Weapons

Basic combat knife. Drop it in the next item box, even if you can kill zombies with it easier than in the first chapter. Found at start.

H&K VP 70, the standard-weapon of Leon. More useful than the knife. One clip holds 18 bullets. You can find an upgrade for this weapon (as shown on the left). With it you'll be able to fire 3 shots in a row.

The Desert Eagle has got huge penetration. You will only find it with Leon, in the room near the stair to the cellar or in the S.T.A.R.S.-Office. There are upgrades for this weapon to find in the weapon safe in the cellar of the Umbrella lab.

The Benelli M3S is good to use against crowds of zombies. You can take it from Robert Kendo in the gun shop or find it in the S.T.A.R.S.-Office or in the mainhall of the R.P.D. There are upgrades for this weapon, too. You will find them in the old faculty, near the hidden lab of Umbrella.

The bow gun is not bad, fires three arrows a row. If you choose Claire, you will find it in Kendo's gun shop, or in the cabin next to the R.P.D.

The Colt S.A.A. is hidden togehter with the special outfits in the locker of the darkroom. You can find it with Claire when you get the special key from Brad. It's shooting with a high rate, though you have to reaload often because it only holds 6 bullets. Standard handgun bullets are needed for this weapon.

Leon can find the flamethrower in the locker of the room with the mutated plant in the Umbrella lab. It's empty soon, and only really useful against plants in the lab.

The grenade launcher. Very effective, coming with 3 different types of grenades (standard-, acid- and fire grenades). Useful against all creatures. You'll only find it with Claire, in the mainhall of the R.P.D. or in the S.T.A.R.S.-Office.

You will find the spark-gun only with Claire, at the place where the shotgun-upgrades with Leon are found. It's not very useful, cause it's empty very soon and you haven't anything to reload. But it's funny to kill some creatures with it.

The gatling gun rocks. You won't find it in the game, you can only receive it by finishing the game without saving.

The rocket launcher: very powerful. Seems to be the best and most effective weapon in the game. It is thrown over to you by a person (Ada?) during the last fight with the mutated tyrant. If you are finishing the game quickly enough, you will receive it with infinite ammo.
