Wesley van den Berg 30.04.'86 the Netherlands Helmond '94/'95 Trance/Experimental Techno/House/Jungle/Ambient Ferry Corsten, Aphex Twin, Airbase, VNV Nation, Squarepusher 1. "Roma" (2000) 2. "From Paris To Lyon" (2003) 3. "No Problems" (in progress) "The Borg" How did I get the idea to make music? Well, in fact it started as a hobby that got out of hand... At the age of six, I always "played" on my father's keyboard. He once put on the Atari (that was connected to the thing through MIDI) and that's how it began. The first program I used (and still use) is Cubase. Later I began using Acid & other programs like Fruityloops How I got into Electronic Dance Music... As a child, I always loved house. I almost did everything to make a cool beat/funky rhythm. I once had this 2unlimited tape (they were huge in Holland) and I used to play it several times a day back then. In 1998, I got in touch with Trance. And later, several other genres like Ambient, Techno & Jungle What about teh Happy Dance? Yea, lol... That's an obscure one. But during elementary school, I mainly did Happy stuff because it was fun to sing along with. And come on, I was a young. hehe My style... Is there such thing as "my style", then? Well probably there is. I like collecting my own kitchen-sounds. In Bacon & Eggs, you'll probably notice that. Have to be careful it doesn't grow into a mess by adding lots of FX mostly works. Also the beats seem to have a very "time stretched clap"-character, I always like to make the rhythm as detailed possible. Adding percussion is a must. However, I didn't always answer to my ideals so much as in the last few years. I like to listen to classical music, and then 'rape' it - by using a piece for a new dance track. I don't do that so often any more, but it's still tempting, though Most of all, I like my music to be interesting and to have a good sence of humor now and then. Plans & tasks... Finish those Kitchentek songs and complete "No Problems", for once and for good. Thank you, weBs |
