A DAY IN THE LIFE

   On August 6th, the" Westby Open Golf Tournament" was held at the Plentywood Golf Course. Ten teams were entered. After a blind draw, the winning combination was Darrin Elm and Carly Lawson, and Ross and Ryan Tangedal. The proceeds went to the Westby Community Center. A special thanks goes out to Darrin Elm for donating his $ 50.00 back to the Community Center.
   Senior Citizens met at the Westby Community Center on Aug. 3rd. Arlene Herman was hostess. The Door Prize went to Kay Tommerup.. Progressive whist winners were Louise Nordhagen 1st and John Tommerup. 2nd.
   On August 7th, the Jolly Twelve met at the Community Center. 1st place went to Irene Stageberg and 2nd to Renetta Westgard. Murielle Tangedal was low.
   Visiting Milo, Louise, and Mark Nordhagen on Tuesday, August 7th enroute from Glacier National Park to their home in Eagan, Minnesota were Marsha Johnson, Shay and Bailey Downey and friend Ryan.
   The Senior Citizens held a Pot Luck lunch on Aug 10th at the Westby Community Center. Progressive Whist winners were Shirley Quam, 1st and Chris Barstad 2nd. The door prize was won by Anna Lagerquist.
   Missionaries Rev. Joyce and Ian Graue were at the Immanuel Lutheran Sunday August 13th services. They are from the Central African Public.  After leaving Westby they will be traveling to other sponsoring congregations.
   Going back to Billings with Marsha Meyer were Alyssa and Jarrod Elm. They had been staying with their Dad, Casey Elm and visiting with Grandma and Grandpa (Sandy and Slugger).

  John and Arlene Hove, Arla Samuelson and Cleo Mack were in Billings over the weekend to help Sayler Stewart celebrate her 2nd birthday on August 6th. They also visited with Tara and Shane Stewart and Curtis and Sharon Samuelson and families. Cleo arrived in the area from Nevada on August 3rd to spend a couple of weeks visiting family and friends.
   On July 20th, Cindy, Taylor, Brett , and Katie Nielsen left for Plummer , Minnesota to spend time with family and friends. While there, Cindy and her sister Dee attened a reunion of a Christian singing group ( "The Joyful Noise") that they were a part of in the 70's. They had a wonderful time getting together with everyone and reminiscing about old times. Taylor and Brett stayed and visited a few more days and then went to Basketball Camp at NDSU in Fargo. They returned by train on August 2nd.
   Julie and Keith Leininger flew to Prosper Texas, July 27th to visit Kyle and Stephanie Leininger and their twin daughters, Kyra and Kennedy. While they were there, they took their grandaughters to see the Ringling Brothers Circus at the United Center. They returned home on August 1st.
   Visiting Milo, Louise, Mark and Ken Nordhagen were: Arnold and Lucy Nordhagen of Douglas, Arizona July 20th -29th, Lisa, Anna and Grace Cannito of Henderson, Nevada, July 22nd -28th, Dr. Shelly Downey and children, Holly, Natalie, and Cody, Shay Downey and Charles Recer of Eagan Minnesota, July 23rd -25th. On the 24th all were dinner guests , with Ruth and Terry Brown being callers later in the evening. John Cannito of Henderson, Nevada was also a visitor to the Nordhagen home.
   Darrin Elm of Bismarck ND was home over the weekend to visit at home of his parents, Sandy and Brian Elm.
   Teresa and Clifford Johnson went to Medora on the 4th of August and returned on the 5th. While there they attended the musical and did some sightseeing.
   Alyssa and Jarrod Elm arrived in Westby August 1st to spend time with their grandparents, Sandy and Brian Elm.
