Guardian Angel

I was stolen just last night;
From my quiet domicile;
While I lie sleeping, half dreaming;
And sighing, yes much sighing;
Crossed my lips and proliferated;
In eerie collaboration, in the corner;
In the corner.

Right outside my range of visibility;
I was taken just last night;
Abruptly removed from my peaceful domicile;
Forced to walk on naked feet;
And fight the bitter air armed by silk.
Silk alone, no coat, no scarf, no mittens;
Against my will and better judgment;
To a vacant lot in the middle of vast emptiness;
Where lust abolished love’s desire;
And left by no right or reason to fend and fail;
A darkened world befell me but in the corner;
In the corner.

As he lunged you locked my knees;
I feel swiftly toward the concrete garden;
But you too caught my skull;
Before it crashed and killed me.
It was not my time to go -
Just your time to come out of the corner;
And remind me that you are still there.
