One
You taught me to dream
and now you are silent.
Salted tears come willfully,
your pain my endless moment.
You gave me passion
looking inside myself
to find bloods thickened pulse
rising ever into consciousness.
You carried with you my hope.
Your courage reminding me to live,
fueling me with strength until at last
I stand. Alone
I return to find your torment
I can not heal you my eternal hero,
find myself engulfed by your loss.
My hands reach out to find
they can not hold you
and I live unable to give
to the life that has shaped me most.
