Judy "Dusty" Cady
Drums and Vocals
Dusty is a third generation musician.  Her mother and family were musicians and singers and her father's parents and their nine children had a traveling show.  The Cady Family Revue entertained in a four state area in the 1930's.  In the 1950's, her father and uncles formed The Cady Brothers Band.
Dusty has been performing for most of her life.  At age five, she started dance and singing lessons at Carroll's School of Dance in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. For the next seven years she performed for many organizations and charities in the area.  Dusty wanted to play drums all her life.  In junior high school, she started taking music lessons. Unfortunately, they didn't need a drumer, they needed a clarinet player. Dusty took clarinet lessons just to get her foot in the door.  She did get the opportunity to take drum lessons while in high school.  After high school, she took drum lessons from Boddicker's School of Music.  She was fortunate to have both a jazz and a rock instructor.  She has now been playing the drums for 30 plus years.
In the late 1970's and 1980's, Dusty, her sister, brother, and two cousins were in a band called
Wakefield County. They were the opening act for the first KHAK Free Country Concert in 1980.  Wakefield Country still plays several times a year.
Dusty has played with many other bands and feels very fortunate to have worked with some of the best musicians in the area.  Dusty says
"It's a pleasure to play in the Western Justice Band". She is a great addition to the band with her outstanding drumming and wonderful voice.
