Kirk Dighton plays trumpet, guitar, steel guitar and bass along with fronting the Western Justice Band. Kirk is the son of Dave Dighton which is the reason for his roots being so deep in to western swing music. Kirk has been playing in Ballrooms in Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota for many years. Kirk is a member of the Northeast Iowa Steel Guitar Jam Committee that produces an annual jam each February in Waterloo, Iowa. Kirk is the Safety/H.R. Director for Life Line Emergency Vehicles in Sumner, Iowa. He and his family reside in Troy Mills, Iowa. Kirk and Kim Dighton celebreated their 25th Wedding Anniversary last year and became grandparents for the first time this past fall. Kirk introduced a new character to the audiences in 2007 when "Stubby Steel" made his first appearance with the Western Justice Band. Stubby appears at select shows with the band. You never know just what will happen when Stubby shows up to play a short set. Visit Stubby Steel's My Space page . |
