Westfield Neighborhood Watch
Neighborhood Watch is a community system that works with the Lomita Sheriff's Station to report suspicious activities in Westfield.  It relies on a volunteer network to spread information to the community in a timely manor on suspicious or criminal activities occurring in the area.

The network has a Neighborhood Coordinator who is the focal point for information.  This person is the neighborhood's liaison to the Lomita Sheriff's Station.  Information flows between the Coordinator and the Block Captains.  The Block Captains are residents from each street block of Westfield.  Information flows between the Block Captains and the Assistant Block Captains.  Each street block is subdivided into groups of less than 10 homes.  An Assistant Block Captain is a volunteer resident from each of these groups.  The Assistant Block Captains phone residents within their groups to alert them of immediate activities in their area.  They will email residents with non-urgent information about recent criminal activities.  By having no single person contacting more than 10 others, information can be spread very quickly through the community in a time of emergency.

All crimes in Westfield should be reported to the Lomita Sheriff's Station.  The information will then flow back through the network to the community.

All suspicious activities should first be reported to the Lomita Sheriff's Station.  Then they should be reported to your Block Captain or Neighborhood Coordinator so the network can warn your neighbors to be aware and on guard.

You must sign up with Neighborhood Watch giving an email address and a phone number, which will be held in confidence, for contact to receive information and alerts.  A voluntary one-time registration fee of $5 is requested to help offset expences of Neighborhood Watch.

Westfield car window stickers are available free to identify your vehicles as belonging to residents.

Neighborhood Watch home window stickers are available for $5 each to identify homes as active participants in the community Neighborhood Watch program.
