When driving to the court, as a courtesy please do not turn around in the neighbor's driveways. Proceed to the end of Sunnyridge and make a U-turn. As a point of interest, directly behind the Tennis Court in Rolling Hills is a Hawk Sanctuary. Many local Hawks can be seen in the Aviaries. When using the Tennis Court all players must observe at all times the court rules posted above the court door as you enter. Below is a list of court regulations. 1. Tennis ethics and good sportsmanship shall always be practiced. 2. Tennis is the only activity permitted on the court. 3. Tennis shoes must be worn on the court. 4. No pets, food/drinks or non-players are allowed on the court. 5. Persons with reservations have priority on the court. 6. Use of the court is limited to daylight hours beginning at 7:00 am and ending at dusk. 7. Rules for when the court is not reserved but others are waiting: a. Five-minute warm-up period. b. One set of singles or doubles may be played. c. Determine sets of six --- no added games. d. Court must be given up at the end of the set in progress. e. If not playing sets, observe a time limit of 30 minutes. f. Waiting players must remain outside the court. 8. Reservations: a. Reservations are open to all Westfield residents. b. Reservation for one hour may be made at the court by signing the posted reservation sheet at any time during the week. c. A new sheet is posted each Saturday morning and remains at the court all week. d. The name of each player/instructor for the reserved hour must be listed. e. There is a limit of two non-consecutive reserved hours a week per player, only one of which may be made on a weekend. Only doubles players may reserve a court for two consecutive hours. f. If you are unable to keep a reservation, cross out your name as soon as possible. Keep a note of your reserved hours at home. g. If players do not show up within ten minutes of their reserve time, the court is free to anyone waiting. h. When a reserved hour is over, the players must yield to waiting players. If no one is waiting, players may continue until someone arrives. i. After the beginning of any hour, a reservation may not be made for that hour. 9. Instructors: All instructors are required to register with the Westfield Park Board at a regular monthly meeting prior to providing any training. |
The Tennis Court in Westfield is located at the top of Sunnyridge Road. The property and the court are owned by Los Angeles County and fall under the jurisdiction of the LA County Department of Parks and Recreation. Care and maintenance of the facility is executed by Westfield's Park Board. As is with all LA County Parks, it is open to use by everyone. |
