Greetings everyone.
We better get comfortable, this could take long. *smile*
*Turns to take a seat and see that Solaron, her pet is in the chair.*
Oh, my apologies, he has…um…a high opinion of himself.
*grabs Solaron around the neck to pull him off the chair, to which the big cat sinks his claws into the upholstery.*
Arg, Solly, don’t do that. They wont let us stay if you tear up the furniture. Now get down.
*looks back at you* I am so sorry. *turns back and pulls the cat off the chair with all her strength, then hops in the seat quickly before the cat can.*
There now, where were we? Oh, yes. You want a little background. Ok…*purses her lips and looks around the room,* Where to start, where to start.
My name is Nylia Dawnbreak, and I am a blood elf. I am…ah, do you really need to know my age? *sigh* Let’s just say in Orc or human years, I am about 28. Old enough to know better and old enough to know how to do it very well. *wiggles eyebrows up and down while giving a cheeky grin*
I’m sorry, I’m teasing. Bad trait of mine, one that has gotten me into a lot of trouble.
Ok, as I said, I am Nylia, but you can call me Ny. This is Solaron, or as I call him, Solly, my companion. *points to the large lynx*. I grew up in Silvermoon city. My parents were working class sin’dorei and I thought to follow in their steps. My father, Theanos, had a nice little leatherworking shop where my mother, Sarlia and I would help him everyday.
Well, *another sigh* there was this nobleman that would visit father’s shop from time to time. He was always the gentleman, unlike some of the nobles that came in, let me tell you. He always had a hello and a smile for me. His name was Jo’nas Morningcloud. He wasn’t much older than I was and well, there was chemistry and feelings developed and soon Jo’nas asked for my hand in marriage.
I know, I know, you are thinking “What! A working class elf marry into nobility?!” Jo’nas and his family wasn’t like that. Soon we had our own little home on his parents’ estate. We wanted a family of our own so we were very happy when I became pregnant.
Then it happened. *shudders lightly* I can still remember standing there, fixing Jo’nas a glass of wine, when they came to tell me my parents were dead. You see, their little shop was in the section of Silvermoon that was decimated. There was nothing left of them. I remember falling to ground and crying and Jo’nas wrapping his arms around me.
The next week brought more bad news. Jo’nas was to serve in the army. I argued that a nobleman’s son should not have to go. We argued the whole day as he prepared to go.
It’s his duty, he told me. I finally relented, not wanting to part with harsh words between us.
Off my husband went to fight the Scourge.
One month later, he was dead. *takes a deep breath and gives a harsh laugh* Yep, he was dead and I was a pregnant widow. Never thought I would be a widow after only one year of marriage. But you know, the only thing that really still bothers me about it all, was they never brought Jo’nas’s body home. No personal belongings, no…no body at all. We had to bury an empty box. I had the thought or perhaps it was a hope, that maybe he was wondering around with amnesia and the magistrates had the wrong information, but too much time has passed.
What happened to the babe? *sigh* That was not meant to be either. I lost the baby. The doctor said it was the stress of losing my parents and then my husband. *shrugs* Who knows.
So now, here it is 5 years later, I have finally moved out of Jo’nas parents house and on my own. I am pretty adept at using a bow so Solly and I don’t go hungry. Plus we like to travel around. We are getting the lay of the land beyond Quel’Thalas.
What else can I tell you?
Oh, I am working on my leatherworking so perhaps I can have a little shop like my father did.
Um…
*looks around the room again*
Yeah…
I guess that is about all I can give you right now.
*hops down from the chair*
So…uh…oh yeah.
The Eternal Sun guides us and all that jazz.
Bye!
