Ny had an arrow notched in her bow and sailing through that air in the blink of an eye. The arrow sank into the tree next to where the undead had been standing. But he had already disappeared.
“Hmpf” She said, lowering her bow. She turned to look back at Solly who was watching the area intently. “Obviously he is under the misconception that we are helpless out here. Doesn’t know very much, does he.”
“Come on, Solly, bath time” Ny grabbed the cat around the neck and tugged him toward the river. She stood on the bank for a minute and glanced around. Maybe she should leave her tunic on, just in case Mr. Happy decided to come back. She let out a loud sigh.
Just like a man to ruin her fun.
Solly let out an unhappy meow at her.
“ I am sorry, sweetums, but you smell.” Ny leaned down to search through her backpack for a bar of soap.
She entered the water and kneeled down near Solly.
“There’s a good kitty.” She cooed at him “Now hold still while momma takes care of you.” Ny talked softly to him while she lathered up his fur and rinsed him clean.
“Ok, up on the bank with you. And no rolling around in the dirt!” She told him, giving him a push toward shore.
