"No."
“Turn around and look.”
Nylia turned away from the message board she was perusing with a sigh, to see who Josteen was referring to. Josteen stood right next to her, leaning against the wall, watching the masses as they passed through Orgrimmar
“Too blue.” She turned back to the board , shifting some notices tacked there out of her way so she could see the hiring notices.
“Too blue! What is wrong with blue? I am blue.” Josteen leaned over towards Nylia , blocking the elf’s view of the papers with her purple hair.
“You are also a pain.” Ny reached up and shoved her friend over by the shoulder.
“Oh, look at that one. Mmhmm.”
“No.”
“Now, that is something nice right there.” Josteen practically purred the words. Her tone caused Nylia to look at her from the corner of her eyes. Her friend had a big smile on her face and was waving at someone across the walkway.
“Flirt.” Ny said with a smile, turning once more to the board.
“Nylie girl, turn around at look at him.” Josteen was still smiling. Ny spun around once again to look out at the crowd.
“His tusk are too big and he is…is blue too.”
“Well now, ya know what they say about big tusk. Means something else is big . I will be right back.” Josteen sauntered over to the troll she had her sights set on. Ny let out another sigh and just shook her head at her friend’s back. That Josteen, not one ounce of self doubt. Just then Solly let out a soft growl. Nylia looked down at her pet.
“What is it, baby? This big crowd making you nervous?” Nylia leaned down and hugged Solly, rubbing her face in the soft fur on his neck, stroking his back. “We are almost done.”
“Nylie, come with me.” Josteen reached down and grabbed Ny by her arm, startling Ny, who said, “Boy, that was quick.” As she was pulled along behind her friend.
Josteen tugged her along the pathway towards the auction house. “I found you a nice one, this time. Very soft spoken mon and so polite. He is just the one you need to get you over your…” Josteen broke off her words. “Now, where that mon go?” She stood on her tiptoes to scan the crowd in the auction house and spotted her query. “Right there,” she pushed Ny towards a big troll who was intently watching the bidding going on. “Go on, talk to him.”
“Jo, I don’t think that this is a good idea.” Ny dug her heels into the dirt, turning to look at her friend.
“Nylie girl, I’ve watched you for 2 weeks now. I didn’t realize how much you was hurtin’. But you gonna get yourself in worse trouble. You act the flirt and the minute a mon looks interested in you, ya freeze up. You cant keep doing that.” Josteen looked at Nylia with a frown. “ One day you gonna meet a mon who’s not gonna be put off by that ice and decides he wants ya. You gonna miss out on an opportunity to find real love this time. And don‘t give me that nonsense about finding a husband just to take care of you. What mon gonna get hitched to a pretty wife he can‘t touch.”
“But, Jo’nas…” Nylia sputtered.
“Is dead, aint coming back, and cant help you.”
“But, Josteen, when Far’hak…”
“Nylie, that was 4 years ago. You letting something that happened a long time ago make you afraid. Far’hak and Tinsen are long gone. They aint coming back to get you. Yous a free woman now. Don’t none got any papers claiming you.
“I am just not comfortable going up and talking to some stranger.” Ny said with a sad smile. “And I do think there are men out there that want a wife just to take care. Really old men.”
“Go now,” Josteen told her, spinning her around to face the crowd in front of the auctioneers, giving Ny a little push again.
“Ok, where is he?” Ny asked resigned to her fate. She knew Josteen wouldn’t let up until she talked to at least one man there. She scanned the crowd.
“He’s gone now.” Josteen sucked her teeth at Ny, then her eyes picked out another from the crowd. “Go talk to the Tauren mon over there.” She pointed at him standing by the window. “He looks calm and he is young too.”
Nylia’s gaze followed to where Josteen was pointing and a big smile broke over her face. She couldn‘t help but let out a laugh. Josteen frowned at her.
“Oh, yeah. I’ll go talk to him but I don’t think I’ll get anywhere!” She told Josteen between a few snickers.
She started to walk away and looked over one shoulder at Josteen, “He’s already taken.” And let out another laugh as she lifted her hand to wave at the tauren.
“Greetings Mahune!”
