GROUND RULES 1. Members and guests use the range at their own risk.. 2. Gate combinatin will not, under any circumstances, be given to a non-member. 3. All members will be totally responsible for any persons brought to the range, as guest or shooting guest. 4. All guests, shooting/non-shooting, must be accompanied by a member, except during a match. 5. No member shall have more than four guests shooting at a time, except during a match. 6. All members and guest will police the shooting area after shooting sessions. 7. Targets will be constructed of materials that will not leave unsafe or unsightly debris. 8. Shooting direction will be such that bullets will not hit any part of the range structure. 9. No shooting will be done at night, except during a match. By definition, night is the time between thirty minutes after sunset until thirty minutes before sunrise. 10. Any member caught blantantly breaking rules of the club, will have his/her membership cancelled by no less than three officers, and if deemed necessary will be charged for range damage. If severe enough, criminal charges will be filed as specified in the club by-laws. 11. All members will have on their person a current club membership card and a current NRA card. 12. No alcoholic beverages or drugs will be allowed on the range. Anyone found in possession will be expelled from the range. 13. Members, shooting guests, and guests will observe common rules of safety and courtesy to others on all ranges. 14. All rules will be made by the officers of the club, ratified by the club members, and all decisions will be final. DEFINITIONS: SHOOTING GUEST- A non-member participating in a shooting activity. GUEST- A person brought to the range as an observer. MEMBER- Anyone who has paid a yearly fee to the Western Sportsman Club and holds membership in the NRA. Membership to include immediate family members. NRA- National Rifle Association. MATCH RULES 1. Absolutely no alcohol or drugs to be used during match. Refer to #12 GROUND RULES. 2. All weapons behind the firing line must be empty. Guns will not be loaded until the "load" comand is given and unloaded at the end of each relay. 3. All actions will be left open. Handling of guns behind the line will be in a desighated area. 4. Range Master shall have absolute control in all matters. 5. There will be no firing on any other range while a match is in progress. 6. Ties will be broken in a "shoot-off". The number of shots to be deternined by the Match Director. 7. Matches will have a basic "no alibi" policy. 8. Safety first at all times. Any disregard for safety procedures will be cause for immediate disqualification. 9. All weapons used in competition shall be serviceable and safe. 10. The Club reserves the right to limit the type of bullet used on metal targets which may be damaged by excessive penetration. 11. Shooters will be disqualified for firing a shot before the "fire" command, firing a shot after the "cease fire" command, or firing a shot into the ground within six (6) feet of the shooter. 12. In the event a weapon cannot be unloaded, the shooter will notify the Match Director who will make further determination as the safest course of action. NO SHOOTER will leave the firing line with a loaded gun unless escorted by the Match Director. 13. The same gun and sight configuration, scope or otherwise, must be used throughout the match. There will be no substitutions, unless the gun or sighting configuration becomes inoperative and unserviceable and then only by consent of the Match Director. |
