That our bishops, especially John Paul, in Rome, and our local bishop, Roger, continue to be guided by wisdom to hear the needs of the body of Christ,

That our pastoral leaders, both lay and ordained, be strengthened in the courage to speak truth, act justly and seek peace,

That all Christians may soon gather as one in spirit and in baptism,

That our National, State and local civil leaders be guided away from bigotry and hate in their deliberations,

That nations never again use violence and terror against each other,

That the sick, especially those suffering alone, experience the love and support of others,

That the needs of the poor, the hungry and the homeless may be met,

That our local community may seek to reconcile and dialogues with the spirit of love,

For our lesbian and gay bishops, priests, deacons, religious and lay ministers who may live in the loneliness of isolation, grant them courage to make their lives testimonies of faith,

For women who experience a call to ordained ministry only to find repression and fear, grant us the courage and wisdom to see Christ in women,

For and end to patriarchy, hierarchy, may we live free from the oppression of power and work collaboratively,

For lesbian and gay couples, may we see in their love for one another reflections of divine love,

For lesbian and gay married couples, may we soon recognize their unions as sacraments for our community

For lesbian and gay parents, guide them as they raise children with the values of Christ and the Church,

For our lesbian and gay youth, may they not be distracted by the illusion of glamour or fall victims of base desire or abuse,

For our diocesan ministry with lesbian and gays, may the courage to speak and act progressively never be lost as we build community,

For more parish lesbian and gay ministries through out Los Angeles, that no catholic may ever feel alone in worship,

For those who live with HIV and AIDS, may we find the cure and not merely a treatment,

For all lesbian and gay people, bring us together in trust and peace,

For lesbians and gays coming out, may they find a supportive and safe communities,

For our elderly lesbians and gays, may we always remember them and never abandon them to isolation form our community,

For our lesbian and gay children still to be born, may we prepare a world free from hatred and sin for them. Strengthen us your lesbian and gay people in your service,
