JohnSacto's Friends
This page is dedicated to those with whom I share and care about.....my friends!
What is love? two souls and one flesh; friendship? two bodies and one soul.

Meditations of a Parish Priest
This is Eric. I've known Eric for so long (since junior high school) that I've accumulated an incredible amount of *dirt* on him. Of course, I'll never share any of it; he has the same amount of *dirt* on me!! This mutual respect (or abstention of disrespect) is sort of similar to the Cold War. Eric lives just around the corner from me with his partner, Steve (see below). I adore Eric's quick wit, natural curiosity about life, and ability to bitch about the funniest things. Most infamous quote: "To know me is to love me......but, for me to love you, you have to beg!"
This is Dave. We were partners before we both wised up and realized that we make better friends. I have great respect for Dave's ability to think clearly in stressful situations, his infectious laugh, and his adventuresome love of nature. He lives in Oakland. Most infamous quote: "The process of becoming a complete person is a long, arduous journey.....the process of become a complete fool takes merely seconds."

This is Mitch. I adore Mitch's incredible sense of humor and happy disposition. I share his love of coffee and cheap, trashy gossip. He doesn't ordinarily wear parrots; this photo was taken on the beach in Waikiki. He lives in Citrus Heights (and has a cool roommate named Michele). Most infamous quote: "I don't have to care about the environment; I'm pretty!"
This is Steve. He is without a doubt the most practical and organized person I know. He also has a flair for picking out home furnishings and adding touches to a room that give it life. He is also a very gregarious and accepting person which I admire considerably. Steve lives around the corner with Eric (see above), and they have been partners for about 10 years. Most infamous quote: "The quality of a man is measured by the respect he commands from others.......but, a lot of money couldn't hurt!"

This is Tracy. I've known him for a long time....we were roommates for several years in the early 80s and have been friends ever since. As friends, we've forged through evolving hair colors and styles, fashion themes, and a few men along the way....stuff that would break-up less committed friends. Tracy has impeccable style and good taste. Most infamous quote: "Handsome guys are a dime a dozen.....but to find one that goes with your furniture is truly priceless."
This is a picture of me when I was 7 years old. It was around this time that I was fervently learning the words to "Don't Rain on my Parade" and helping my sister bleach her hair "just to see the chemical effect." HA! Most infamous quote: "Why are all the really neat things wasted on girls?"

I think about the child in this picture when I think about such drab concepts as the "inner child". I prefer to call my inner child Johnny. Johnny is, indeed, my friend. And despite his youth, Johnny is rather complex, often functioning outside of traditional constraints such as money, gender, and, of course, good taste. He helps me get through life's little dramas.
