Rocky's World

The Life and Times of Malcolm's Rocky Glen
(aka "Rocky" or "Garbage Gut")

Hi there!!! My name is Malcolm's Rocky Glen but you can call me Rocky! I'm a West Highland White Terrier. My mom's name is Sandi and my sister is Erin. I came to live with them in Florida when I was only three months old.

I really love to be out and about. My mom and sister like to take me places. In December of 1996 I was in the local Christmas parade (in Florida) with Erin's Junior Girl Scout Troop. My costume was an angel (ha ha, I'm anything but an angel). The wings were ok but no way were they going to make me wear that silly halo thing! I have even gone on several boat rides! It was lots of fun. There were alot of people who wanted to play with me and I even met another dog on the boat. It was a big fluffy German Shephard-Collie mix. Once I went to Sea World. I couldn't go in the park so I stayed at their Kennel. It was fun because alot of the Sea World employees came into play with me on their break. Mom and Erin came into play with me too!

Mom and Erin signed me up for puppy classes. I suprised everyone and graduated from my puppy class. I really am stubborn and don't like to do "down" or for that matter "sit" or "stay." I managed to do well enough that they graduated me though. Now I am in the advanced class and I am still working on that stuff but I also get to do more fun things to like the hurdles. One day we went to the Humane Society Pet Walk-a-Thon and we saw a lot of our friends from puppy classes. That was a fun day. I saw a veterinarian I know. He calls me "Garbage Gut" because I like to eat a lot of things that aren't good for me - especially acorns. I don't know why I eat them, they make me feel really icky! I am a very mischevious little dog. I love to steal things from the laundry basket, chase lizards, squirrels, and even leaves! I won third place in the most mischevious dog contest for the Humane Society. The prize was a pizza for Mom and Erin. Boohoo, they wouldn't let me have any. I always have to try and steal it from them when they aren't paying attention. I'm getting REALLY good at pizza snatching!

Mom and Erin went on vacation. I got to stay at my vet's boarding kennel. Dr. St.John said I was the best pup at the boarding kennel. Mom went to visit her friend Dennis in Washington State. He has three big dogs-Bouvier des Flandres named Stormy, Zolie, and Indigo They live in Mason County, near Puget Sound, Seattle and Olympia. Wow. She showed me their pictures...they look like fuzzy bears!

My first birthday was September 13th, 1997. My humans had a birthday party for me. I got a new collar and a Seattle Sonics jersey for my birthday. They put a candle in my dog food and sang Happy Birthday (and made me wear a silly party hat). I wouldn't let them take a picture of me looking silly like that especially since they had CAKE and I had dog food.

Exciting news! Mom told all of us that we would be moving to Washington state sometime during summer 1998. We will be driving and stopping to visit all sorts of neat places. You'll be able to read all about us when Mom puts our journal up on the website.
