Cradle of hope:

Xena and Gabrielle walk into parent-hood when they find a baby by a riverbank, left to escape harm after a seer warns the local king that this child will one day take the throne. A woman named Pandora looks after the child, as well as a box she says must never be opened or else the god's most precious gift, hope, would be lost.After recapturing Pandora's box from the king's ruthless minister, Nemos,Xena discovers that the king himself is a good man tormented by the death of his wife and young son."Think, Gregor!"she tells the king. " This child will take your throne, but as your heir, not as your conqueror." The king asks Pandora to help care for his new son, and to share his new hope. Gabrielle later upends the box but finds it was empty all along. "What should we tell Pandora?" she asks Xena, who replies," Hope has been and always will be safe.
