| The kidnapping of princess Jana of Boeotia leads her fiance`, the prince of Colonus, to beg Xena's help in rescuing her. He suspects that the arms dealer Mezentius has arranged the kidnapping in order to spark a war between thier kingdoms and supply both sides.Xena infiltrates Mezentius' band of mercenaries and reunites with her former lover, Marcus. When Marcus discovers Xena trying to free Jana, he alerts Mezentius. But when Mezentius aims an arrow at princess Jana, Marcus rushes in front of her and is killed instead.
