chapter twenty one

couple of months later

'Emily Steefall?' This was my final moment. I walked up to the doctor's room.

'Good morning Miss Steefall. How are you today?' The doctor had always been very friendly. 'Good morning doctor. I'm fine thank you.' 'Please take a seat.' I took my seat, wishing for the best.

My mobile phone rang. 'Sorry doctor, I won't be a moment.' 'That's alright.' 'Hello? Mark! Yeah. No, not yet. No, you don't have to do that. No, don't worry okay? I'll be fine I promise. I'll call you when I get out okay? Okay, bye hun.'

'Sorry doctor.' The doctor smiled at me. 'Well, I can see you've been making some brilliant progress towards the program since I saw you last time. You look better and happier,' The doctor said, sending my hope up to the sky. 'And?' I was really inpatient. 'Miss Steefall, I am happy to tell you that you are now fully...'

The door was opened suddenly. I turned my head quickly to see who it was. 'Mark! Why are you here?' Mark smiled to the doctor, mumbling sorry. 'I'm sorry, you are?' The doctor's look was as if she'd seen Mark somewhere before. 'I'm Mark Feehily. I'm Emily's boyfriend. I hope I'm not too late to hear the result.' He shook the doctor's hand.

Mark quickly took a sit next to me and held my hand. 'Well, I was just saying to Miss Steefall that I am happy to tell her and you too, Mr. Feehily, that Miss Emily Steefall is now fully detoxinated and is declared clean by me, as her doctor, and the centre’s staff.'

I couldn't be happier at that moment. My wish for months had came true. I turned to look at Mark and he was looking undoubtedly happy. He didn't want to waste even one more second, he stood up and hugged me so tight I thought I was going to die. Then he moved slowly and kissed me softly. I was in heaven by then.

'Umm..sorry to be interrupting you two. I have another news for you Miss Steefall' The doctor seemed a bit uncomfy. I was pretty much embarrassed because I had totally forgotten that she was there. Mark's cheeks turned bright red again and I couldn't resist not giving it a kiss.

'Ummm..yeah. So how do you want me to do it?' 'Does it only concern me doctor?' 'Maybe yes, maybe not. I don't know. I guess it is best if I'll tell you first then you can go on and tell whoever you want.' 'Alright then. Mark, do you mind waiting one second outside?' Mark didn't seem to be offended at all and he moved outside. When the door was finally closed, I was still grinning ear to ear.
