chapter twenty six
'Emily?' 'Mark! What are you doing here hun? You've only been gone for like an hour now. What's wrong?' I felt a huge relief through my chest. I didn't want to show it to Mark. I could handle this by myself.
'Nothing. I just didn't feel like having dinner with those guys. I'd rather be with you. And tonight is meant to be special.' 'Well, that's nice of you. Very sweet indeed.' I kissed him again. My God, he'd find out sooner or later. This is not me. I mean, I did kiss him but not this much of course. I was also glad, on the other side, that he didn't notice the change in me after I picked up that call.
'Are you sure they won't be getting too angry at you?' He nodded 'Well, are you ready to go out tonight?' 'I'll need to change of course. Where are we going anyway?' 'It's a surprise!' Mark could definitely think of a surprise quickly.
I went in to my room quickly and chose what to wear. It was fall and it was starting to get a bit cold at night. Plus I had to hid my small bump. The phone rang and I got really afraid again. I was sweating. 'Mark, could you get that please?' 'Alright!'
While I was busy putting on a bit of make up I could hear Mark saying something like 'No, I'm not going to be there. No, sorry. Yes, I know I should've called. Yeah, she's back. What? I'll talk to her about it. Alright. See you later.'
When I came out of the room Mark said, 'Wow! Is Quick 'n Perfect in style?' I couldn't help but laugh at that one. 'So are we going? Who was it on the phone?' 'Yes we are going and it was the publicist.' 'What does she want again? Can't she leave you alone for a second? Bloody!'
I didn't fancy Westlife's publicist too much. It seemed that she had an eye on Mark. 'Hey hey, we're not going to ruin our night just because of her right?' Mark held me close again. 'No.' 'Alright then, let's go!'
