"Nicky I was so scared" and with that Sarah stood up with a helping hand from Nicky and started sobbing into Nicky's chest. Nicky held Sarah close to him to try and calm her down but Sarah couldn't stop shaking. Sarah couldn't understand why they were being so horrid. She was happy and so was Nicky. What was wrong with that?
Sarah felt an arm on her shoulder. "Come on we'll take you two home," Shane said softly gently pushing Sarah in the direction of the car door. Nicky followed quickly after still hugging her. Then Angel and the rest of the guys piled into the car. There was an eerie silence for the rest of the journey except for the occasional sob from Sarah. Shane was talking with Angel but Sarah was unable to catch the conversation. She felt safe in Nicky's arms but still deep down she knew that it couldn't go on like this. She knew that she would have to let go but how? She loved Nicky, but did he love her? He had never told her.
Sarah was glad that the car finally came to a stop. She didn't want to leave Nicky's arms but she knew she had to. She looked up for the first time since they went inside the car and noticed that they hadn't driven them home but had actually driven them to their hotel. "We've phoned your mam, telling her that you were staying with us" said Bryan smiling trying to comfort Sarah. "Oh" was the only thing that Sarah could say. She still couldn't comprehend anything that had happened that day. Questions were whizzing through her mind and she was unable to answer them.
"Come on" Nicky said helping Sarah out of the car and into the hotel. Sarah was in a dream world. Nothing anymore seemed real. She had been happy but now her world was about to fall apart and Sarah felt that there was nothing she could do to prevent it from happening. She knew that this would have to end. She could no longer put up with it and she could see that it wasn't doing Nicky any good either. She saw the pain and hurt in his eyes. She didn't want him to have to go through it and there was only one thing she could do to stop this hurt.
"Here you go, you'll be aright, don't worry, you're safe now" Nicky said but Sarah could hear a hint of self-doubt in his words. Both Sarah and Nicky knew that thinks wouldn't be all right until the fans accepted the fact that Nicky was taken.
"You lie down I'll be back in a minute." Nicky said heading in the direction of the bathroom. Sarah headed for the bed and wrapped herself inside the covers. Nicky continued to talk to Sarah, but Sarah's eyelids were growing heavy. She was finding it harder and harder to stay awake. She lost the energy to reply or respond to anything Nicky was saying.
"It'll be alright Sarah, you'll see I love you and that's all that matters.." Nicky said walking towards Sarah. "Maybe one day I'll be able to tell you to your face" Nicky whispered responding to the fact that Sarah was asleep. Sarah wasn't asleep she had heard what was most important. Nicky loved her. She knew that everything was going to be Ok. They loved each other and that's all that mattered. She smiled as she felt Nicky's warm body slide into the bed next to her. His arm wrapped around Sarah spreading his warmth through her whole body. She smiled once more and then drifted into a worry free sleep.
