BACK Seconds Too Late
By Lynsey

Heather sat in a little world of her own, like she had done since she had found him with her only hours ago. It had only been a few hours but she began to miss everything about him. She missed everything about him his face, his personality, his voice, the way she could go to him and he was able to comfort her and tell her things were going to be ok without her even opening her mouth. She sat thinking back to the day they had first met the day she had fell in love with him and he her.

Flashback
She had been walking along the road with her two mates, Gemma and Jenny discussing what Jenny should buy for her holidays and what Gemma and she should buy for going out to a concert which they were going to in the next few days, with another four mates. She suddenly bumped in to somebody, when she looked up she was instantly mesmerised by his blue eyes. He quickly helped her to her feet and asked her to come with him for a coffee to say sorry. Of course his invitation had extended to Gemma and Jenny too, but they, knowing what Heather was like, declined his offer and added before Heather could say anything “Heather will still go though” before walking off only looking back to give Heather a little wink.
End of Flashback

As the rain fell down Heather suddenly realised, that without him her life really wasn’t up to much. She had given up her job and most of her friends. She did have a group of five friends that she still saw, they were really the only ones who were her friends because of who she was and not whom she was dating. She felt alone and isolated when he went away. She felt she was the only one going through it. She had her friends to comfort her, one even knew what she was going through as she was dating one of her boyfriends band mates. Yet no matter how much they tried they couldn’t seem to be able to comfort her in this situation. It didn’t matter anyway she knew what she was going to do, it would only take a matter of seconds and then it would be over. He would of course find her in about half and hour but by that time he would be too late. She thought painfully back to that dreadful night before reaching for the knife.

Flashback
Heather walked to the front of the hotel, she was so happy he was back. Walking up to his room she began to get the feeling that something wasn’t right. She dismissed the thought and moved nearer to his room. As she grew nearer the feeling grew stronger. She was just about to put her hand to the door when she heard it “oh Kian…oh god….yes…yes.” she couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She pushed open the door, her worst nightmare coming true all over again. He was there with her. Another girl. Someone that she knew and didn’t get on with. How could he do this to her. Kian looked up as he heard the door bang open. His eyes froze as he saw her standing there. Heather began to walk away “Heather please it’s not what you think!” he cried before pushing the girl off him, grabbing his robe and trying to follow Heather. But it was too late. He had already hurt her more than he knew. Heather had swore she wouldn’t get involved with anyone who would do that to her again but she had.

End of Flashback

As the tears tolled down her cheeks she put the knife to her wrist and cut. It seemed to take all her pain away. As she slowly took the knife to the other writs she heard him bang on the door “Heather please let me explain.” She took the knife and cut the other wrist.

Seconds later Kian burst the door open to see Heather lying on the floor. “No!” he cried. He knelt down and took her head in his arms, crying he began to rock her back and forth. He had been seconds too late.
