BIOGRAPHY

Sel Munt- Celebrating 25 Years as President of West Moreton Country Music Assn

Selwyn or Sel as everyone knows him, has been singing country music for near on forty-seven years. His first love is bush ballads, although he was brought up on songs from Wilf Carter, Hank Snow, Gordon Parsons and Slim Dusty.
Sel joined West Moreton in the early 60's and was instrumental in them producing three albums. West Moreton Volumes One & Two, and then their 25th Anniversary released in 1991.
Sel was elected to the position of President of West Moreton Country Music Club in 1975. He held the position for 26 years standing down in October 2001.
Sel has competed in numerious festivals, and he won the Open Yodel section at the 1991 Champion of Champions. Since then Sel, himself has taken up judging, and has been doing it at various festivals now for the past few years.
Sel also loves to do charity work, he entertains at Lions, Cross Roads and Camp Quality functions. He also plays at aged peoples homes and various concerts.
In May 2002, Sel's name was added to the "Rock of Renown" at Rockhampton in recognition of his contributuion to Country Music.
October 2003 saw Sel again honoued at 2003 Redcliffe Country Music Club's Annual "Palms of Honour" Ceremony.
