"No, Mulder," she started again, "My shoulder, Mulder, my shoulder."
"Oh, shit, sorry," he offered apologetically. "Hold on."
Mulder slowly pushed himself off her, each partner groaning at the loss of heat and the rapid introduction of frigid water. Scully touched her fingers to his chest, just in case he slipped, she didn't want 200 pounds of Mulder to fall on her... Again. Fox lifted his left leg from one side of her hips and moved carefully to his right. Scully was equally cautious of moving and they were both doing fine until Mulder lifted his left hand from beside her head.
His eyes went wide as he teetered and fumbled for control on the slick surface. His legs flailed ineffectually, his feet squeaking as they lost their grip. Mulder howled as his left foot connected with the hood ornament; a sickening crack signaled its departure from the bonnet, rocketing the metal emblem across the garage, and landing with a clink on the concrete floor. The whole car shook as Mulder's hip crashed against the soapy hood. Dana jerked at impact, but was more shocked than surprised when her lover slipped off the car altogether. She heard a soft thud on the wet concrete and scrambled to the edge of the hood, carefully enough, that she didn't fall over with him.
Mulder opened his eyes just as Scully's head swam into view and he looked up at her. Dana watched him intently, trying to assess any damage. They said nothing to each other; the hiss from the hose the only audio. Dana unconsciously pulled her bottom lip into her mouth, trying to prevent any emotion but worry slip from her features. If it hadn't been for the goofy grin that spread across Mulder's face, too, she would have been able to pull it off. The look in his eye commenced hysteria and the two partners exploded in laughter.
"Leave it to you," Scully said, watching Mulder push himself to his feet. "To bathe in the moment."
Fox grinned and helped her off the car. "I am Mr. Romance," he replied.
Dana bent to pick up the broken hose and pointed it at Mulder. "Time to get clean, Mulder."
Her partner yelped at the cold water. "Geez, Scully! Warn me when you're gonna do that!"
Scully chuckled and lowered the hose, tossing him his jeans. Mulder caught the soaked mass of jumbled denim and shook them out, attempting to untangle them. He hobbled over to where his trunks had landed and bent down to retrieve them. He straightened with a groan, hand on his lower back. "I think I really busted my ass good this time, Scully."
Dana walked to his side and picked her shorts off the floor, pulling them over her legs and hips. "Let me see..." She walked behind him and set her hands on his hips, studying the already discoloring flesh. "You are lucky you didn't break your hip. You know what that would have meant."
Mulder groaned at the prospect of body casts, traction and no sex for months. "I don't even want to think about that," he said covering her hands with his own.
"Let me take a closer look-see..." He felt her grip change slightly as she squatted behind him. Scully lowered her mouth to kiss his bruise softly, her tongue caressing the contusion, gently nipping with her teeth as she pulled away. "You'll live," she said simply.
Mulder stuck out his bottom lip. "I think I might need a full examination..."
Dana straightened and smirked at him. "Oh, I'll be sure to," she replied. "A *full* body cavity search..."
"Stop it, Scully... You're making me anxious."
"I know."
With a smile, Scully turned on her heel, heading for the car. "Come on. Let's get back to the hotel."
Mulder grinned and watched her walk away from him, savoring the view. He pulled on his jeans, stood straight and frowned, noticing a stain of red on her left shoulder. He frowned and stepped forward swiftly, grabbing her right shoulder. Scully gasped in surprise as he pulled her back against him. She turned her head to the side, eyeing him as his head lowered to her shoulder. Her eyes slipped shut as his lips touched her cooled skin. She felt a sting of pain flow through her shoulder as he kissed the cut just beside her shoulder blade and sucked a breath through her teeth.
Fox lifted his mouth from her. "Sorry," he whispered.
"No..." She shook her head, her eyes still closed, telling him it was okay.
Mulder leaned forward again and kissed around the cut which still bled lethargically. His hands held her shoulders gently, keeping her on her feet. His tongue came out slowly and dragged it softly over the wound. Dana jerked again, but he continued. The cut was fairly deep, but it wouldn't need much medical attention. Nothing more than a Band-Aid and some peroxide.
Scully moaned softly as his tongue ran over the cut again, cleaning the blood from it. She found it incredibly arousing that he would actually think of cleaning a wound for her with his... oh, his tongue. She sucked in a breath as Mulder pulled his tongue past the cut and nibbled her shoulder.
Her skin was tangy; and intoxicating mix of blood, sweat, and sex. God, he could taste the zest of their lovemaking seeping from her pores. It was never enough, with each swipe of his tongue, he wanted more. Hotel. Back to the hotel. Mulder kissed the cut one last time, his mouth regretfully parting with the delicate skin of her shoulder. Leaning forward, he took Scully's ear into his mouth, sucking gently before pulling away.
Dana moaned at the loss of his heat and looked back at him.
"I think it'd be beneficial if we left this place. It's having a strange affect on me."
She turned around and leaned into him, forcing his arms around her. "All the more reason to move in."
Mulder kissed her forehead, holding her close. "Your shoulder okay? I'm sorry."
Dana hummed into his chest, shifting her shoulder slightly. "It's okay." She kissed his skin softly. "There'll be a nice bruise there, though."
"We could always sue the car dealership."
Scully looked up at him. "Oh yeah... 'Excuse me, I cut my shoulder on your car's windshield wiper while I was having sex on the hood. You think we could be reimbursed for the trauma?'"
Mulder chuckled. "That does sound a little strange, doesn't it?" He pushed lightly on his partner, starting them to the car again. Reaching around her, he opened the car door and she stepped inside. Mulder closed the door gently and walked around the front of the car, bending over only momentarily as he picked up the hood ornament. He slipped into the car, putting the ornament in his partner's hands.
Dana looked at the metal Cadillac symbol in her hands and glanced back at her partner. "What's this for?"
Fox put the key into the ignition. The rumble of the engine vibrated throughout the wash stall as Mulder pulled the car out of the garage. He pulled out onto the road and accelerated smoothly.
"Mulder?" Scully asked again.
He looked over at the woman next to him who held up the ornament. He smiled and reached his arm around her, offering her to scoot over. She did just that, even though her question still hadn't been answered. Mulder held her gently, his other hand on the wheel. Leaning down slightly, he kissed the top of her head.
"It's a souvenir, my dear Dana. I'm going to put it on my desk."
"What a momento," she said dryly.
"Well I would shellac that hose, but I'm afraid of its implications if I hung it in the office..." He smirked at her.
"Just remember, Mulder--"
"Dead cats, Scully, I know. Those damn dead cats..."
