Starlight Hold:
Winter Welcome Gather
S'ron sighed as he rolled over. The clutch hadn't hatched, but since the clutch mother wasn't there, it would be hard to tell exactly when they were going to hatch. Aith yawned and called to S'ron.
We have to search that boy today, S'ron, Aith sighed. Maybe we should head over to the Weaver's stall.
"A fine idea, Aith," S'ron sighed as he pulled on his clothes. "Did you see anyone else you like yesterday?"
Not really, but some people arrived late last night, Aith sighed. Come on, S'ron. Let's get going.
S'ron pulled on his Weyrhide jacket and followed Aith out of their weyr and boarded his blue. They winked between to Starlight Hold, and landed in snow that was at least five inches deeper than it had been the day before. Aith started towards the gather boothes. He stuck his muzzle into the Weaver's booth.
The boy gasped, but dispite the shock, began to scratch Aith's eyeridges.
That feels good! Aith cooed. I'm Aith, a Search dragon!
"Yo there, Aith!" S'ron sighed, trying to catch up with his dragon.
This is the boy, S'ron, Aith sighed. He'll make a good rider. He's nice.
"This the lad? Ah, a nice one!" S'ron laughed. "Opps, sorry lad," Sr'on sighed, realizing he had been rude. "I'm S'ron, Searchrider for the clutch!" he said, "Who might you be?"
The boy grabbed some paper and wrote: I'm Tenshion, and I accept!
S'ron was startled. The only mute he had met was Veana, and she didn't even try to communicate, but it didn't matter to the dragons whether a person could talk or not.
"Well, we got ourself a candidate!" said S'ron to Aith, leading Tenshion out of the stall and to the Sands.

Later that night, as S'ron lead each of the candidates towards the beach, he noticed silver-blue Zalaeith wink in over the stands and land next to the eggs. Aith greeted Zalaeith happily. Valecaea leaped off of Zalaeith's back, and then helped a young man into the stands. S'ron placed each of the candidates around the rocking eggs. one of the eggs cracked, but everyone sighed at the silver dragon that spilled onto the sands, but suddenly, Aith bulged.
Hey, get down onto the Sands! I should of Searched you sooner, you're perfect! Oh shards! Aith exclaimed.
S'ron whipped around and saw him starring at a young man whose skin was as white as the snow that surrounded them. S'ron rushed over to the boy and through a robe on him.
I'm S'ron, and that was my blue Aith who just talked to you, sorry for this, but you're a candidate now!" he yelled.
The silver started towards a girl who was laying on the sands. It seemed that she had tripped while rushing after the other candidates.

Shenainoa, are you all right? You don't need anymore problems. But I just got rid of one, you don't have to worry about going back to that ship, the silver sighed as she nuzzled the girl.
"I'm fine, Unimeth," Shenainoa sighed. "And hearing that I won't have to go back to that ship makes me feel ten times better."
Another egg cracked and a platinum dragon fell onto the sands. The large male glanced about at all the candidates and noticed Tenshion standing near the back. He pushed his way through the crowd.

"I'm Gabbyth," The dragon annouced, out loud. "You don't have to worry with that pad anymore. I'm here to speak your mind!"
Tenshion smiled as he hugged the platinum.
"He says he's as happy as someone could be!" Gabbyith exclaimed.
Two more eggs cracked. A violet dragon with light blue wing sails and a cream dragon spilled onto the sands next. The cream dashed towards Akelei and wrapped her tail around the girl's leg.

Akelei! Akelei! You came for me! The cream exclaimed.
"Of course I did, Tuiath," Akelei smiled.
The two toned walked slowly over to Xijiana,
Well, I'm here.
"Yes, Ritath. You are," Xijiana smiled.
Schee sifted back and forth on the sand as the last and largest egg cracked. The crowd gasped as two dragons emerged from the shell: a white about as large as a bronze hatchling and a very small light blue hatchling. The white was quick to choose the remaining candidate on the sands, Schee. They were a fine match, both as white as the snow around them.
"Kinamyth, I've very glad you chose me," Schee sighed as he lead his lifemate to the Weyrlingmaster.
The light blue was sure what to do, but he turned to the stands and examine the rows. Suddenly, his eyes locked with the boy sitting next to Valecaea.

You came! You're here! I was afriad you wouldn't make it! The blue exclaimed as he tried to climb into the stands.
The boy leaped to his feet and rushed to help the dragon, "Oh, Juyath, I can't...I wasn't..."

It doesn't matter where you're from or what you are to us, Juyath sighed. Let's go get something to eat.

Suddenly, Aith exclaimed, S'ron! The flight! Caryth is rising! We must go now!
"Aith! Wait!" S'ron exclaimed as Aith tried to take off before S'ron had boarded.
"Good luck!" A bunch of the riders shouted as Aith betweened.

Morning Star riders entered the hall together, their dragons lined the ridges outside all talking about the odd hatchlings that had came about during the hatching. Haren and Laterira ushered their younger children into the hall while their sons followed with thier wives and children.
Karastan took up his gitar and struck a chord to a very somber song as the new riders and their hatchlings entered the hall.
