Morning Star Weyr
Zearia sighed as she hung her new dress back in her closet. J'gon was busy with the quickly growing Endoth, and she was by herself. Sighing, she flopped down on her bed.
"I wish the clutch at Turquoise would just hatch already," Zearia sighed.
J'gon slipped into the room, unnoticed, as Zearia continued to rant, "I wish that I hadn't been named Weyrwoman. I wouldn't have to deal with all of this if I hadn't."
"Oh, Zearia, don't say that," J'gon sighed, putting his arms around her. "If you hadn't been chosen to be Weyrwoman, we would have never meet."
"I know, J'gon, but I still wish it had been Kaira and not me," Zearia sighed.
"Oh, Zearia, don't..." J'gon sighed as Endoth bulged.
Zearia turned to look out the window at the blue, "What did he say, J'gon?" Zearia asked.
"Turquoise just annouced that their clutch isn't going to hatch," J'gon sighed. "I'll make arrangement for the returning candidates."
Zearia lowered her head, "Send S'ron, F'gan, and Kaira to fetch them back. You go on ahead and tell them. I'll be there in a minute."
J'gon placed his hand Zearia's shoulder, "We'll find another place for you to stand, Zearia, and you will Impress a special so you can stay on as Weyrwoman. I promise."
Zearia nodded slowly, "Go on, J'gon. I...I just want to be alone."
J'gon ran his hand down her back as he turned to leave. Zearia shrugged at his touch and turned towards the window. She sighed as she watched the once inactive bowl of Morning Star Weyr busle with action. Dragons landed and took off constantly. Zearia turned towards an desk that sat in the corner of the room. Paper and paints litter the table, but they were covered in cobwebs, untouched for who knows how long.
"One good thing will come out of being dragonless. At least to can get back to my painting," Zearia sighed.
She sat down at the desk, brushing off the unfinished drawing in front of her, her wrapping her arms around a hatchling queen. Zearia snorted.
"A crazy dream! A stupid crazy dream!" She exclaimed as she ripped the drawing into pieces.

Four Years Later...

Zearia sighed as she organized the new residence requests. Suddenly, a call came from outside. She turned to see Endoth peering through her window.

Zearia, I need to talk to you, Endoth sighed. It's about Impression.
  "Which one?" Zearia asked.

The one at Falas, Endoth sighed. I want you to stand.
Zearia turned and glared at the blue, "I told J'gon and you not to talk to me about standing again!!!!"

Zearia, listen, I've been an adult for over five turns, Endoth growled, and I have yet to fly a female at J'gon request. I'm telling you that if you do not stand and Impress, I am going to between myself during the next green flight.
  "You're not serious," Zearia groaned.

Dead serious, Endoth growled, stessing the dead in a way that Zearia did not like. Silivrosth and Maeve are coming to check you out later today. Be sure you're ready, and no playing with that stupid sketch pad.

Later that day...

Zearia sighed as she watched the night sky burst with activity. The dancing of the stars and the two Pern moons had been the subject of many of her draws over the past turns, but tonight, there was a welcome addition to her drawing. The Silver-White dragon burst through between just as Zearia had begun to sketch that section of sky. When she spotted the bulked of the beautiful dragon, she began sketching furiously, trying to catch as much of the dragon's features as she could while it was still airborn.
"Are you Zearia?" The female rider asked as she carefully stepped from her dragon's back onto the ground.
"Yes," Zearia sighed, standing, still drawing, adding the rider to the back of the dragon, and with much detail now that she had removed her riding helmet. "You must be Maeve. Endoth told me you were coming. I was waiting here to tell you that I'm not interested."
"Oh, really, didn't Endoth tell you what he's going to do if you don't Impress?" Maeve asked.
"He's not serious," Zearia sighed. "Is he?"
Maeve nodded as Silivrosth nodded behind her, "Endoth is completely serious about that. Hasn't J'gon told you?"
"I haven't seen J'gon in two days," Zearia sighed. "I think he's avoiding me. Too embarrassed about having a Weyrwoman who doesn't have a dragon or a shread of a chance of Impressing!"
Maeve grabbed her by the arm, "You're not listening to me. I'm giving you a chance. Silivrosth said you're good and is surprised you haven't already been searched. Come back to Falas with us."
Zearia looked into the girl's eyes. They showed deep concern, an almost worried expression. Zearia's eyes teared as she thought of Endoth betweening just like....
"I'll go!" Zearia exclaimed as tears streamed down her face. "I'll go! I'll go! I'll go!"
