The following are pictures of a 125 Enduro I picked up from a friend. It had been stored outside, exposed to the summers of Liberty, TX for several years at an old airport. It had been damaged, apparently the recipient of several blows with a baseball bat. It was free, so I figured worse case scenario my son would learn a little something about motorcycles, 2-strokes and engines in general while we worked to get it running.
September 2005. This is a picture of the frame after being painted.
January 2006. Assembly of the frame and installation of the street tires is complete. Now the repair of the tank can begin.
January 2006. Well, the project is coming along well. The frame is painted, as are the fenders. The wiring harness is installed. Now all the connections need to be made in preparation for the engine installation. The tank is currently being prepared for paint, as can be seen in this picture.
March 2006. The tank repair is complete and primer has been applied. The engine has been temporarily been installed as has the seat. I have received the decal kit I ordered. I need to either repair the wiring in the handlebar controls or buy new controls, as they have been destroyed by someone. They came this way, so this is not a new development.
July 2006. The new hand controls have been installed, as has the NOS wiring harness. I have a carburetor on order. The tank needs one last sanding and it is ready to be painted red. I'll update with pictures later.
October 2006.
The tank has been painted.
Here is what it looks like with exhaust installed, the new carburetor and the tank in place and the oil tank painted.
And now the decals have been applied.
I still need to apply the clear coat, clean up the carb and get the wiring harness sorted out. I also need to find the rubber dampers that sit underneath the gauges so my new gauges don't get ruined.
7/15/2008 - I applied the clear coat to the gas and oil tanks while I was painting my Auburn RD project. They came out great!!!
