Search Unsuccessful Navy Jet Airman Lost In Caribbean Landing NORFOLK - Lt. Cmdr. William Glenn Moore, of Virginia Beach, was lost Friday night in the Caribbean when his Navy Jet fighter crashed during night operations off the carrier Forrestal. A Navy spokesman here Monday, said the carrier air control operator lost voice contact with the Douglas F4D Skyray after the pilot had made a turn into the final approach for landing. "The pilot reported that he was at 5,000 feet, his fuel load was okay and he was turning on final," the spokesman said. "Thirty seconds later the ship lost radio contact with the plane and it diappeared from radar." This was about 8 p.m., Friday, he added. No Trace Found An immediate search pattern of AD5W aircraft was instituted by the ship. Other units also participated in the search operations but no trace of the plane or pilot was found. The search was resumed Saturday morning, the spokesman said, with the same results. Cmdr. Moore was attached to Fighter Squadron 102 at Oceana Naval Air Station. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Moore, of the 6900 block of Atlantic avenue.
