| Yes Solange Knowles does have a very famous sister but she shines all on her own with her own album "Solo Star". Solange is just 15 but has penned many of the songs herself she is helped by some famous friends but it is obvious that she has her own talent. You may have seen her as a dancer with Destinys Child or heard her showcasing her talent on Kelly Rowlands album ("simply deep"-it is one of the best songs on the album). On Solo Star she links up with Murphy Lee from Nellys group the St.Lunatics, Lil Romeo, N.O.R.E, B2K and on one of the hidden tracks Beyonce and Da Brat. The album is RnB, pop and reggae influenced and is an excellent first effort. She sites her parents and Destinys Child as great sources of inspiration for her. She says of Beyonce "watching her has taught me a lot". Some of her other inspirations are Stevie Wonder, Michael and Janet Jackson. |
