| So Solid is a garage collective started by a group of kids living on housing estastes in London. It consists of various Mcs and Djs (30 at last count I think) and has spawned solo artists such as Lisa Maffia, Harvey and Romeo. They have managed to catch the attention of international artists, Romeo linked up with Christina Milian for the tune "Its All Gravy" while Megaman appears on Beenie Mans album "Tropical Storm". They whipped the UK charts back in 2001 with their No.1 hit "21 Seconds". No one had ever seen or heard a uk group like them before!, there was so many of them and they had style and attitude. Some people dubbed them as the Uk Wu Tang but thats only because of their size. They soon started to get a lot of bad press when some members of the group got in some heat. Some members felt that their lives were at risk from haters who didn't like their success and felt the need to carry guns while another member apparantly assulted a fan. The Uk press love to shit stir and made the most of these problems while highlighting their lyrics saying that they condone violence and encourage youngsters into a bad lifestyle. Personaly I don't believe this to be true. |
