Whatever

Staring at blankness
Looking out, hoping to see
Dreams are a given

So I think I have it figured out
Why do I say that?
I know what you want to hear
But I'm not repeating this season

Fashion magazines have it all planned
Right down to the shoes
Women flock to see what's going to happen
How it's going to come down

Materialism is just another thing
I don't care about...
Frozen

I've been the girl you wanted me to be
Only to find that it wasn't really me
So I drowned myself in sorrow
And found that sorrow looked a lot like you

So I tried new things
New things lead to old things
And I'm still the one that can't be

Think I'll try the red one
Blue is too good to let go
Green is the greatest
White means I have to let go

"Welcome to life, "he says as he closes the door
I'm still frozen and I want the world to know…
Yesterday

If I thought I might find the words to express what's on my mind,
I'd share those words with you.
If I thought I knew where I was going,
I'd give you a map to guide the way.
If I knew what I wanted,
I'd tell you so I could have it wrapped neatly under the tree.

Tomorrow's coming faster than it seems
And I'm still wrapped up in today
I let go only to find I'm still clinging to what never was there.

Taken slowly, this might induce a good sleep
Taken quickly, this might just kill you one more time
The echoes around me whisper of something
Something I'm sure I'll never find

If yesterday was a dream,
Will someone please tell me?
