Ok, this was at the I&I at Much More Music in Toronto last November.  It's kinda silly, but I thought it was funny.  I had won passes to the show, and ended up standing about 4 feet to Ed's left for the duration of the taping.  At one point, I noticed one of his guitar picks on the ground next to his setlist, and I decided that pick would be mine by the end of the evening.  I waited for the commercial break to come, and called out "Ed...ED!" I got his attention and he turned and looked at me.  I said "Could I have that pick" and pointed to where it was on the floor, but it was funny, because he said "Sure" and then went to pick it up but *couldn't find the damn thing*.  It took about 5 people standing around me, in my area and we were all pointing at it, saying things like "turn around", and "it's next to your foot" and "right beside the setlist" before he finally saw it, and picked it up and gave it to me.

Sandy - Location: Trenton, NJ 12-02-01, My first time meeting Ed...
During the show, I got props for my "Peace, Love, Barenakedness" sign from Ed and Steve who recognized the sign from the Roseland PPV. That was great enough, but wait til you hear this...

After the show, me,val (the sister), lora, aman, and mary ellen (aman's gf) wait outside to get autographs but no one seems to be coming out..So we chat it up with the security guard (nice guy, seemed to have a crush on val, aww) and somehow, the security guard comes thru for us..We're waiting near the fence and the fence looks down into a small parking area where the tour buses are...so we wait, and we see someone who LOOKS like kev but since we're so far away we can't tell...Then we see 2 guys start coming over to us and I was like oh, shit we're gonna get arrested again but then I realize who one of them is....it's ED. And it was so cute! there was a grassy incline where the top level goes to that lowel level parking and ed goes thru the gap in the fence and CLIMBS up the incline to meet us! Here is our conversation:

My mind: "hi my name is sandy...nice to meet you. That show Friday nite was AMAZING. It was the best show I've ever been too! So how has the tour been so far, etc..."

What ACTUALLY comes out: "hee hee hee...hiiii...I'm the one that was jumping around like an idiot on Friday nite at the PPV...hee hee"

My mind: (smack!)

Ed: Nooooo, THAT was me...(laughs)

Mind: "introduce yourself, say your name!"

Acutal: (nervous giggles)

Ed: (after finishing signing stuff and pictures) Well, guys, take it easy, get home safe!

Actual: You too! Take it easy! Thank you!!
(for the first and only time my mind and mouth match up)

I fell in love with Ed in 2000. I was watching in Farm Aid concert on television and just thought he was the cutest thing. Then I saw them in concert a couple weeks later and really got a dose of Ed humor. I've been hooked ever since. The last concert I went to in Portland, Or was in the 7th row Ed's side. I was able to see him really well. I waited after the show for 1 1/2 hrs, but they had already left the hall. I was very disappointed. The next show I'll probably go with French-Bow and hopefully we'll get to meet them. I'm definately looking forward to it. He's such a sweetie
Ed was the first one out.  We were under the impression that we could not "pose" for pictures with the guys, hence the back of my head.  We later found out that wasn't so.
Anyways, He walks up to me and this is the dialogue:
Me- Hi, Nice to meet ya
Ed- Nice to meet you too
*hand shake*
*I pull out the picture*
Me- *feeling weird about asking him for things* Sign things for me! *as if to be commanding -- sarcasm*
Ed- *chuckle* I'll see what I can do
*he looks over at Gina*
Ed- Hey, I remember you Gina.  How have you been?
Me- Oh! Remember Gina, but don't remember me!
Ed-*flustered* Well, she has that song written with her name in it and I just...
Me- I've never met you before, just kidding
Gina - Yeah, we have a song for you too
*we sing*
Ed- That was awesome
Me- Yeah, we do lounges on the weekend
As Ed walked into the tour bus, I don't know why, but I yelled "HUMP ME!"  This caused the rest of the crowd to look over at me.   Some laughed.  Most didn't.  I did.  :)
I will forever be known as the "HUMP ME!" girl.

I had it all planned that I would strike up a conversation with Ed regarding the similarity between his and my looks.  I didn't want to freak him out, but we look more like brother and sister, than me and my brothers do!  After we met the band last February and were showing our pictures to anyone who would look, it became apparent that we did resemble one another.  I had to tell him this!  Of course it was people who had no clue who he was that thought it was a picture of me with my brother!  So I did tell him this, and his response was 'sure you can say I'm your brother, anytime!'.  I think I may have caught him off guard on that one.   Our picture is below (you can be the judge of whether we resemble one another or not! - I think it's mostly the mouth, teeth and eyebrows!)
