Handgun Control, Inc. in Washington, DC named her National Spokesperson for their National Membership Drive and Assault Weapons Coalition, utilizing the story of her son and the work she had accomplished as a handgun control activist. A picture of Larry was forwarded by the DC office to appear on the Essence Awards Show which paid tribute to the children across the nation lost to gun violence. Upon relocating to Louisiana in 1995, she contracted with Vermilion Parish School Board as Arts Educator, serving as a multidisciplinary teacher of the performing arts: Assistant Band Director, Fine Arts Teacher, Special Ed. Arts Teacher, Musical Theater Director/Choreographer and Speech/Drama/English teacher. When not working in the arts, she also taught Biology and Physical Science, and Anatomy and Physiology at Blue Cliff Massage Therapy College. Lynette's recent appearance on the Discovery Channel's FBI FILES was as a prison chaplain in the re-enactment of the St. Martainville Prision takeover. Awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree in Divinity for her nationwide dedication to children's and youth ministry, as an ordained non-denominational minister, Ms. Robinson is also founder and Editor-in-Chief of Woman's Emerging Spirit Magazine where she utilizes her life experiences, talents and spiritual wisdom towards enhancing the creative process. Tapping into both the happiness and the sadness, holding nothing back in her ministry, she motivates others as an example of courage and what faith can achieve. |
