Here we have the lovely couple Willow and Tara, completed long before we knew there would be official versions on the way...much better versions too, I was never exactly happy with this pair! I wanted a Tara figure as she became an important part of the show, and I also wanted an updated Willow, as the original figure was looking more and more outdated every time I looked at her! The plan was there, but the execution didn;t really go that well.
Both lesbian witches are made from Rogue from the X-Men movie line. Willow from a 2-pack version, and Tara from a standard carded version. I acquired the 2-pack version with no hands, but I couldn't find a matching pair, so she ended up with one much bigger than the other, whoops! The head obviously is from a Willow. I cut away her hair as with the Buffy customs, and sculpted her shorter style...I think the hair came out pretty well, I was quite pleased with it at the time. I also sculpted long sleeves, partly to differentiate her from Tara, and an attempt to vaguely match an outfit from The Yoko Factor.
Tara was more simple, just a repaint. Both girls have cloth skirts, painted over. I also gave them a little Miss Kittyfantastico to keep them company! They turned out ok I guess, but I was never exactly happy with them. |
