Two days ago, Ihad an opportunity to watch the much debated movie, "Kinsey," the rue story about a zoologist in Indiana University who started the sex revolution of the 60s.
This man was shocke and angry at the way sex was taught to students and actually began his own courses on sex education. This was just the beginning of his quest and search to reveal the secrets of the sexuality of both men and women.
HIs books became a sensation. His first book on the sexuality of men became a bestselling non-fiction book but his later book about the sexuality of women brought along much controversy.
There are still mixed feelings on Kinsey's work. Some regard him as a hero, a savior, who enlightened people to the real world of human sexuality. Some regard him as a pervert who molested children and indulged in abnormal sexual acts to obtain the results he got.
Which side is right? The movie certainly tries to justify Kinsey's actions and sympathizes with him. I certainly am not in any position to make a judgement on whether what he did was right or wrong but I certainly feel that what he did was needed. People needed to be open to the actual world around them.
