Ohlins shock |
Trick update to those weak bushings that crack. Hey a needle bearing. Why didnt the Maisch bros think of this? >>> |
Same treatment as the rear wheel. 70% gloss black hubs and buc's polished SS spokes really catch the eye! >>> |
We let Eric Cook have his way with the Nordisk rims. I wanted a light gold that came close to the NOS sprocket. The results of the re-anno job is fabulous! >>> |
Aluminum pieces were blasted with Green-Diamond media for that extra fine satin appearance <<< |
A NOS original backing plate was hand polished with associated hardware all cleaned up and clear-zinc plated. >>> |
TOBY our Lab watching over the big bores. No really he's waiting for me to throw him his old shoe and do some jaw gymnastics! >>> |

Original Nordisk rims are in great shape as well as the hubs. <<< |
A common problem with the rear suspension. Worn out bushing with 1/4" play! <<< |
Triple clamps will get the Green-Diamond blast treatment. Polish not an option for these rough cast parts. <<< |
As you can see, the blasting treatment turns out great. Re-powdercoated bars and a new bar decal top off the handles of the bike. >>> |
Ditto on the front wheel. <<< |
A great find of this NOS never run pipe from EC. One thumb size dent taken out ready for hi-temp porcelin paint finish. <<< |
A chassis shot showing the finish detail of the SS. Very simple and functional to the core. >>> |
Correct Magura 314 twister, hand gear and those black plastic plate mounting screws. Terry cables do the controlling on this monster. >>> |
These 490's have a nice compact layout that balances the bike very well. Lightweight with gobbs of power! <<< |
New seat and a PFR round alloy silencer for original affect. Boy is it loud! NOS Acerbis sidepanels. <<< |
NOS original rear 52T sprocket from MO and a NOS rear brake plate, MO chainguard is a nice feature that you can easily maintain the plactic wear pieces with. >>> |
Everything here is new. Powdercoated hardware items and check out the precision staple job! <<< |
MO wide pegs for a sure footing. Billet chain saver and other clean features make this Maico an eye catcher! <<< |
Throw those stock lightweight springs away for the heavy spring. The new stance with this set-up is so much better now. Caution Yellow PC finishes it. >>> |
Looking pretty abused here. We had to replace one of the sliders as it was cracked at the axle clamp. <<< |
Chassis inspected and repaired as necessary, ready for blast and powdercoat. RAL3020 flame red is the correct selection as you see to the right. <<< |
Fork sliders got the same treatment with new bushings, seals, 20wt oil at 170mm from the top. Beadblasted alloy parts keep it nice and clean. >>> |
Just like candy! PC'd parts back ready for pre-assembly and final build. Its important to keep finished parts from scratch damage now!. >>> |
