The sun was bright and the clouds were just a rolling across the sky. The ship was headed to northern Ergoth. Chartered on southern Ergoth, but seemed it was taking a bit to damn long. Specially since Brim knew these waters, from his major mapping expedition he had here a few years back. He had been on Sancrist for a short time, and well lived in Mt. Nevermind. While he was there he had done a great deal of mapping of the mountain and surrounding areas, the gnomes there loved some of the techniques used to label his maps.

Brim stood on the deck of the ship, he surveyed the horizon. he was sure they should see something by now, being that a day had past since they left southern Ergoth. He paced the deck, looking at Massy below the main deck, in the ships hold. He waved to the steed who only snorted at the stuffy location which he had to stay while traveling on the boat. Brim laughed and waved once more then turned and headed to where the captain was standing near the helm.

"Hey there captain Black." Brim yelled alittle loud, cause the captain jumped out his skin nearly. The captain looked down on Brim. Being only three foot four, Brim was used to looking up at people. "Now I told you about sneaking up on me. Last time you did that I bout fell off the side of the ship." Brim nodded then giggled more to himself then to the captain. The captain was a jumpy fellow, for a guy who had been in sea battles, he was a real tweaked out individual. "Well captain I thought we should be seeing land by now, being that northern Ergoth is only a days journey from southern Ergoth. Why aren't we there yet?" The captain looked alittle bewildered when Brim said this, and after a great deal of thought the captain shrugged. "Now I said when you first boarded this ship not to be bothering me with your directions and such, we are making good time and should be there in the next few hours. please refrain from sneaking up on me, and give me that compass back." Captain Black reached out and grabbed the compass from the kenders hand "You said I could look at it once we were out to sea, how rude" Brim pulled his hand back from the captain and the compass fell on the ground "Now look what you did, that thing better not be broken or I am gonna break your pointy little ears." The captain yelled and scrabbled for the compass laying on the deck. Brim stepped back a few paces and surveyed the horizon again. "I hope your right cause I never spent this much time between the two Ergoths, I personally think we will be hitting sancrist by mid after noon, but that my own thoughts." The kender turned and walked down a flight of steps to the lower deck area. He heard the captain screaming bout something and looked up in time to see him yelling at a fellow sailor, something bout not being on guard and letting him know when people were sneaking up on him.

Brim went below deck and checked on Massy. He had a few juicy apples he had found laying in a corner some where below deck, to offer to the steed. The next hour or so Brim explored around below deck in the ships hold. After figuring out all the locks on all the chests below were defective, Brim decided to go tell the captain about it. Once on deck again brim surveyed the horizon once more and spotted a ship which looked like it was headed directly towards them. He ran to the helm, to tell the captain. Which got very angry again when Brim startled him once more. before getting to upset the captain pointed to the ship. Shouted orders of all kinds, the sailors quickly got the entire ship in order. Mean while, while this was going on the captain had the men in the crows nest changing flags here and there to show the other ship who they were. A short time later the captain frowned on Brim, waving his finger at him "You really need to stop sneaking up on me like that. The other ship is a merchant vessel such as this one, we are both dropping sail to slow down,. So we may both dock with each other once we get closer. You seem like a trader, many a good deals can be made on the open sea. Gather some things, meet me on deck. Will not be more then thirty minutes till we meet up." The captain heard a call back from the crows nest and smiled "Tis an old friend of mying too, might be alittle time till we get back under way again Brim. Might be having us a little shindig while we are at it." The captain smiled and turned leaving Brim standing there wondering what items to bring and what a shindig was.

Brim was below deck for only a short time. By the time he had returned to the deck, the two ships were already tossing ropes back and forth. Orders from both captains could be heard above all the yelling and screaming from the sailors doing their captains bidding's. Brim was awe struck by the endeavor he had just witnessed. The docking of two ships while out at sea had never crossed his mind and it was a grand sight indeed. With in an hour both ships crews and passengers were gathered on both decks talking, singing, drinking, and all other manners of playfulness were taking place between the two ships. Brim spent time asking questions to any one that would give him a few moments of their time. Feeling the rush of excitement along with the others Brim had an idea, Massy would love this he thought to himself. Looking for about ten minutes Brim found the captain of the ship he had originated from and asked him if it was possible to bring massy on deck. The captain, half drunk by now. His mood more cheerful, gave the order to a sailor near by. With in minutes massy was on deck, with Brim at his side. The two wondered around on the ship they had docked with. Brim found some pretty unusual crates full of glass containers he look through while Massy was munching on some fresh fruits found on a nearby table. The two were content for the time being. Day slowly became night, and the two ships continued on with their shindig.

In the morning the sun rose and Brim was there on deck to watch it. The crews on both ships took their time getting up and about. The morning brought alot of grumbles and moans, seemed every one had their fill of ale last night. Their were many empty barrels rolling around on the two ships decks. Brim found Massy sleeping and with a playful poke, Brim woke him. Massy took a few seconds to glare at Brim. Massy then turned away from Brim and wondered over to a near by table looking around for breakfast Brim figured. Brim turned and found a few forgotten items which he happily grabbed to hold on to for the time being till he found the owners.

By mid day the two ships were back in order. Brim over heard that the two ships soon planned on breaking loose from each other. So he made sure Massy and him were on the right ship. Brim and Massy stood on the starboard side of the ship looking out over the ocean. Orders rang out in the salty air, the ship rocked back and forth then balanced out. Looking back to the other ship he saw they were now apart, and they were both on their way once again. After about a half hour passed, Brim headed to the captains cabin, below deck. On the way there Brim noticed a few things seemed different to him. Once he got to the cabin he knew what it was. He was on the other ship. Once in the captains cabin, the captain looked very surprised to see the kender. Brim had a short conversation with the captain, and an agreement was made. At which time, Brim departed to the deck once more. To tell massy bout the great news, they were in luck and the ship was headed to northern Ergoth. Brim stood for a while and wondered where the heck the other ship was headed. He shrugged it off and told Massy to follow him below deck.

Brim and Massy just walked down the steps and found a empty cabin. Brim took the bed and Massy just wondered around the room sniffing things. After a short time Brim joined him, and started sniffing things too. Not long after Brim began sniffing things, there was a knock at the door. Then the handle jiggled and the door opened and in walked a tall, slender figure dressed in black robes. With the black hood drawn low. The robed figure looks up at Brim and immediately gasped then spoke "You, What are you doing here?" Brim notices the smooth skin and narrow sky blue eyes slightly pointed ears. After which Brim just stared at the robed figure and Massy took a few steps towards the figure and sniffed a few times before turning around and walking away. "Me, well I just boarded the ship. I was on the other ship remember last night? Yeah some how I messed up alittle and we ended up on this ship." The Elf grinned and shrugged "Oh well, I had thought for some reason you were following me." Brim smiled then sat up from his position of half under the bed, where he was while sniffing around the room. "Have we met? You act as if we have met before" The Elf nodded. "Yes, a few months ago I had seen you in Solace, we haven't met personally. But I do remember you from there. My name is Urtak, I am a mage of the conclave and am headed to northern Ergoth. Your name is Brim HappyTrailzzz. I remember that much about you." Brim smiled and nodded. "Yes alot of people know me, that I don't even know" Brim giggles to himself and Massy looks over and snorts. Brim gives him a cockeyed look and Massy goes back to what ever he was doing.

Urtak smiles and sits at a chair near a table in the room. "I also know that your a trader and a good one too. I would be very interested to know of any pouches you may have for trade with any magical properties. Would you have any by chance." Brim looked around the room seemingly not listening, Urtak coughed and rolled his eye at the Kender. "Oh, yes I have many pouches. Let me just take a look through this one bag I have here." Brim looks through his bag and nods to himself. "Yuppers, sure thing." Brim hands a bag over to Urtak. "Look through this bag see anything you might think is good for you. Just let me know." Urtak grabs the bag and immediately feels something about the bag itself. He looks through and finds nothing magical about the others. But the main bag that held all the bags had some magical property which he could not pin point, but felt he could study it better later at a more convenient time. "Brim how bout this one here" Urtak holds the main bag up. Brim smiles " Yes my many pouches pouch, that's a nice one isn't it. You interested in that one? You have anything for trade? I don't like money, I would rather have a new item." Urtak nods and reaches into the folds of his robes and pulls out another pouch. One that Brim seemed to like very much " Oh yes, I will definitely take that one. That's my friends, Bullseye from kendermore. He has been looking for that thing for a few years now, last I heard anyway. He will be so happy to get that back. I swear I had found it once before, I thought it was in that bag I gave you. But I guess not." Urtak grins more to himself then to the kender "Ok, great. here's all these back and this one too" Urtak hands the pile of pouches back to Brim. "Thanks alot for the business. Wow I have alot of pouches here." Brim manages to stuff them all into one and then puts that one into another pouch. Urtak stands and heads to the door "Well Brim, very nice doing business with you. I am sorry but I must return to my cabin, I have some things to gather before are arrival to northern Ergoth. thanks again" Urtak smiles to himself as he opens the door and walks out the room closing the door behind him. Brim had just finished up getting his pouches in order, to notice the elf had already left. Massy just snorted again and continued sniffing things. Brim soon found himself sniffing things along side his friend Massy once more.....
