| Appalachian Trail In 2006 I was able to become one of less than 10,000 people who have succesfully thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail. On March 21 I began at Amicoloa Falls in Georgia and 199 days later, on October 5, 2006 I summited Mt. Katahdin in Maine, 2,174.6 miles to the North. It was an incredible experience. | It is over. I have become an Appalchian Trail Thru-hiker. It has been one of the best experiences of my life that I will ALWAYS remember. For those of you I met on the trail, I had a great time meeting everyone and really want to keep in contact so, PLEASE keep in touch! (there's a link to my e-mail address at the bottom) As far as the pictures go, I sent some home before getting them on the web so, the ENTIRE trip won't be up until I make it back there.
