The Wild Scallion was any of our first adventure race.  After running it, I can say that it was much harder than I was expecting.  All in all, though, it was a blast.  We started out running, then climbing up and down 40 flights of stairs, running some more (sometimes in chest deep water.  After running ~6 miles we transitioned to the biking.  Most of the course consisted of road riding, although there were a few miles of off-road.  After hitting the transition site up again, it was time for one team member to bike, one to roller blade, and one to ride a razor scooter...otherwise known as the Triad.  This is where teamwork comes into play!  After the ~ 4 miles of triad it was just a short orienteering course and we were done... 6 hours 45 minutes and 5 seconds after we started!  Unfortunately, since I was racing, I didn't get to take too many pictures.  I do have a couple though.... hopefully I'll have more from the next race.... there WILL be a next race!
