                                                              The  Facts

The prohibition of cannabis will always cause more violence than cannabis itself.
America's so-called "war on drugs" has been in reality a civil war on the poor in general, and in particular blacks, hispanics, and the predominantly white counter-culture. It never, ever had anything to do with public health. Instead the war on drugs is about politics and economics.
Due to the current laws, we as citizens that wish to grow hemp, use marijuana medicinally, or want to relax with a joint have been in a 64 year game of chess.
Can you believe that Cheech and Chong are going to possibly live their entire lives under the cloud of marijuana prohibition? How ironic. :o)
The law keeps the people in check from supporting the end of cannabis prohibition for fear of making waves with the government. The almost 70 million Americans that have used cannabis at some point in their lives need to say enough is enough. Cannabis use is not a crime. Cannabis abuse is not a crime either, it's something that calls for treatment and education. The government has, by law, created a black market for cannabis which in turn has caused the price for marijuana to compete with that of gold per ounce at $300. A desire for money. That which is not of God. That which has created an army of agencies in the United States and made cartels even more powerful financially.
It's like they are building a wall, brick by brick. For 64 years now the government, powerful industries -- and the misinformed public -- have been building this wall against drugs, and in particular, cannabis. The answer to destroying this wall of reefer madness has always been simple. That first brick should never have been laid for cannabis prohibition. For therefore was created a flawed system of handling the drug issue. Pull out the corner block of the wall and down comes the misinformation.
This is a health issue. This is an issue of medicine for seriously ill patients with wasting-away syndrome from AIDS and cancer, nausea from radiation and chemotherapy treatments, glaucoma, bulimia, anorexia, and may even help in seizures caused by Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson's Disease.
This is also a free-market issue. Hemp can produce alternative paper, fiber, fuel, plastic, building-products, etc.  Industries do not want a sudden resurgence in a product that has been prohibited since 1937.
