Inuyasha is a half demon (hanyou), his mother was human and his father was a demon. They both died when he was only a young child. When he got older he fell in love with a priestest named kikyo. Kikyo was going to let him use a magic jewel called the shikon no tama to turn into a human, but before she gave him the jewel a demon called naraku made it so they thought they betrayed one another. Kikyo used her sacred arrow to pin Inuyasha to a tree for ever while naraku had disguised himself as inuyasha and fatally woonded kikyo and kikyo died right after she shot inuyasha. When kikyo died the shikon no tama was burned with her body. Not to be seen for another fifty years when kikyo was reincarnated into a girl named Kagome. When kagome came to the fuedal era where inuyasha lay pinned to the tree.Kagome broke the spell of the sacred arrow and Inuyasha was awoken. Kagome ended up breaking the shikon no tama and scattering it throughout japan. Now Inuyasha and kagome must gather the fragments of the sacred jewel before any other demons get thier hands on it because even one shard can make a demon a lot stronger.
