Billy reached down and pulled the face off of The Ugly Man. There was a bright flash of light and everything went back to normal. Well, almost everything. "Buffy, you face." Willow said hesitantly.

Buffy reached up and touched her face, it was still bumpy and ridged and in her mouth she could still feel the razor sharp fangs. "Oh my God. I didn't change back." She felt tears in her eyes as she looked up at her watcher. "How come I didn't change back?"

"W-Well, I'm not sure. Everything should have gone back to normal." Giles told her. Willow and Xander looked out the window of Billy's hospital room.

"Looks pretty normal out there to me." Xander stated. They heard Billy moan sleepily and open his eyes. "And the kids awake. So..." he trailed off.

"I'm stuck like this." Buffy said quietly.

Willow, trying to be helpful, said, "We'll find a reversal thing for vampires. We'll get you changed back into your normal self. I promise." when she finished talking she looking over at Giles, who was looking down at the floor with a grave expression on his face.

"There's no reversal spell is there." Buffy said, it wasn't a question.

"Who are you people?" They heard Billy say. Everyone looked down at the young boy, and when they looked up again, Buffy was gone.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was night finally, Buffy thought as she stepped out from under the hospital covered parking lot, where she had been hiding all day. Hiding from the, now deadly, sun. But now the bright sphere had sunk below the horizon leaving the streets of Sunnydale bathed in eerie moonlight. Her surroundings just fed her depression. She watched her feet move, one in front of the other, on and on down the dark sidewalk. She was so lost in self pity she didn't hear someone coming up behind her until she heard, "Hey." surprised she spun and delivered a hard jab to her attackers nose. "Ow!" he complained holding his sore nose. Hey, she recognized that hair.

Angel.

Oh no.

"Angel?" She completely forgot about her face, which was still vampy. "I'm sorry, I didn't know it was you. I was so distracted. Are you okay."

"Yeah." He said, but checked for blood anyway. Then he looked at her face for the first time.

"Oh Buffy..." he took a step toward her. Buffy remembered in a flash what she was and covered her face with her hands, turning her back to him.

"I know, I'm ugly." she wiped at her tears angrily. "How do I get rid of it?" she asked, almost pleaded, him.

"You have to relax. Just let all the emotions your feeling go." he instructed her. "Sometimes it helps if you close your eyes." he moved closer to her and took her hand in his massaging it gently. "Take deep breaths."

Buffy did everything he told her and soon her felt her face shift back to normal. She reached up with her free hand and touched her forehead, it was smoothe and her teeth were blunt, human teeth once more. "Thank you." she said looking up at him, and noticing for the first time how close he had gotten to her and that he was holding her hand and running his fingers over her palm. If she still would have been human she would have blushed as she gently retracted her hand out of his grasp. "I guess you've had a lot of practice with this kind of stuff."

"A bit, yeah. Are you okay now?" he asked, concerned like always.

"I guess. But I have no where to go, I can't go home because I'm starving and I'm afraid I'll attack my mom. And I can't go to my friends' place for the same reason and even if I did go home and managed to hold it together, I don't think my mom will buy it when I say that I burn too easily in the sun and I can't go to school. It's just all screwed up. Everyone else's nightmares went away and I'm still..." then she burst into tears.

Angel instinctively took her into his arms and let her cry into his chest as he rubbed her back, whispering endearments to her softly. He knew that she had to get some 'food' in her before she gets to weak, so he told her to hang on to him, then picked her up bridegroom style and headed toward his apartment.

On the way, Buffy stopped crying and fell asleep in her weakened state. And when they reached his apartment he placed her in his unmade bed and covered her up to let her sleep.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The smell of blood brought her out of her dreamless sleep. When she opened her eyes and saw Angel walk around the corner with a coffee mug in one hand. That's when she realized how much her head hurt. "Morning." He said handing her the mug. Buffy took it and stared down at the crimson liquid in the yellow mug. "It takes some getting used to, but you have to eat something before you waste away."

Buffy nodded in understanding. The blood smelled to good, it made her mouth water, and she felt her face change. With a sigh she sat up and took a sip. She nearly moaned at the taste as she swallowed and felt the warm liquid slide down her throat. She took another drink and another until the cup was empty. "I can't believe I just did that." she murmured. She looked up at Angel sheepishly.

Even with the vampiric face, she still was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. "Need some help changing back?" he asked her. She nodded and held out her hand to him. He hesitated for a second.

"The hand thing worked last time." she told him, as he sat down on the bed next her her and took her hand in his, and began rubbing her palm and fingers like he had done last night. Her eyes fell shut and she let the world slip away and slowly her face went back to normal. then she opened her eyes and looked right into his. "Thank you for helping me. I know we haven't really been talking lately because of what happened a few weeks ago. But, it was really nice of you to let me sleep here."

"Your welcome." he said, letting her hand go, immediately missing the contact once it was broken.

"So... I guess all the reasons that we had that prevented us from seeing each other are kinda gone since I'm dead and not the Slayer and I'm not gonna age or anything. So... um..." she looked up at his face, "I'm gonna shut up right now." she said, looking down at her hands, but he reached out and lifted her chin up to look her him. Then his lips touched hers and her eyes fell shut once again and she kissed him back. She felt the demon inside her flare and cry out of his and her still intact soul starved to unite with his. She felt powerful all of a sudden, she felt like a half of her was returned. She felt like she was home. Before the kiss heated up, Angel pulled away because he was feeling the same things she was, but the difference was, he knew why. "Okay. That was, um, new."

All the time that he had been with Darla, it had never happened, not even a flicker. Twin vampire souls, soulmates. But wait, hold on, he didn't even know who sired her. "I'm sorry." was the first thing that came out of his mouth.

"For what?" she asked, feeling fear well up inside her. All she could think was 'what if he doesn't like me like that anymore', and that was not good to think in her current confused state.

"We need to talk about your sire. Do you remember what that vampire looked like?" he asked. If he could just find out who her sire was, he could find out wether what he thought was true or not.

Buffy accepted his change of subject, she just couldn't go 'there' again, she was just starting to not think about him 24/7. "I never had one." she answered, crossing her legs to make herself more comfortable.

"Was it a spell?" he asked, thinking that maybe they performed a spell incorrectly or something, but no such spell came to mind.
"No. There was this boy that got knocked unconscious and his spirit or something was walking around town bringing the nightmare world with it, along with a very strong, very ugly, guy-thing. When we woke the boy up, everything went back to normal, but I stayed like this. Just lucky I guess." she said with a pitiful shrug of her shoulders.

"You dreamt of becoming a vampire." he stated looking away from her and going into major brood/think mode.

"No, burried alive by a risen Master, then rising as a vampire. That's the edited version of it." she explained. He only nodded, keeping his 'something face' on. "What?" he didn't say anything, he just got up and put on his coat. "Where are you going?" she asked.

"I'm going to find out what's going on. I know a few people that might be able to clear some things up." he told her.

"Oh, okay." she replied ackwardly. "Neat."

"I shouldn't be gone long. If you get hungry, help yourself. I'll be back soon." he headed for the door.

"What about the sun?" Buffy asked, worried that he might have forgot and she didn't really want him to be sizzled into a crispy critter.

He smiled at her concern. "There's a dry sewer route." he told her.

"Oh. Well, that's good to have." she felt like an idiot. Of course he knows how to get around during the day, he's been a vampire for 240 years.

He nodded opening the door, but before leaving he said, "Don't let anyone in, I have a few demons that are after me right now." then he was out the door.

"Okay." she said to the empty room. Then she felt a huge jolt of energy go through her, and he felt a strange out of body thing going on. She could actually feel where Angel was, she could feel what he was feeling and if she focused really hard she could actually see what he was seeing. She shook her head to clear it, then she was back, but the connection was still there. "What the f...

"...is going on?" Angel demanded of his old buddy Whistler, as he held him up against the wall by his flashy colored shirt.
Whistler would be gasping for air, had he beed human, instead he just politely answered Angel's question. "You already know." he said, "you can feel it in your soul." in the heavy Brooklyn accent.

"Why?"

"Well, it was obvious that we were never going to get you two together unless some supernatural stuff went down." Whistler answered calmly.

"What? How could you do this to her?"

"Let me down and I can show you." the slightly annoyed immortal said. Angel stepped away and dropped him to his feet. "Thank you so much." He said while fixing his jacket. Angel just stared at him, waiting. "Let's just say that the PTB saw their chance to get you two together, so they took it. Trust me, you'll thank them later once you find out the prophecy." Whistle promised.

"Prophecy?" Angel repeated questioningly.

"To make a long story short, the PTB decided to take a stand and fixed a screw up." he said while walking past Angel and heading for his personal bar. "It was foretold, before even Darla was born, that you and Buffy were going to meet, fall, then have a daughter that would give a direct link to Them." he said, indicating upwards for the last word.

"A daughter? I think they screwed up again, because vampires can't have children." Angel reminded him.
"They know that. But they couldn't make you human unless you did something really really favorable to Them, so they had to make Buffy-"

"A vampire." Angel finished for him.

"Yeah. I sorry, kid. I think the only good thing you get outta this is They gave you two a link to each other, because that's the only way they could keep her from losing her soul, and to keep her a vampire. So we've made history, the first two vampires who are soulmates and demon-soulmates. It's quite amazing." he said while pouring himself a drink of Irish Whiskey.

"There's no way we can reverse this?" Angel asked.

Whistler took a drink out of his glass before saying, "If you want to defy the the Powers, who don't like to be pissed off and would kill you and Buffy in an instant... go ahead. But in doing so, the earth may never have a suitable protector from the First."

Angel nodded his understanding. He could feel her confusion, her fear and hate of what she was, and it made him sick that she had to go through what he did. "At least she won't be alone."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The hot water hit her like a spray sent straight from heaven, warming her cool skin and making her feel alive again. She moaned and tried to ignore the intense tingle that suddenly spread through her body. Then she heard to door open and close, Angel was back.

Angel... she could feel his hands all over her, as if he were standing right there, touching her in all the right places. All she could think was, is he feeling this too?

When Angel stepped into his apartment after his confrontation with Whistler, the first thing he heard was the shower running. And, had the circumstances been different, he could have resisted the urge to join her, but being that they were so deeply connected that every fiber of their beings screamed to be together, there was no way that he was going to be able resist. But he sure as hell was not going down without a fight. So to distract himself he took off his boots and coat and began to tidy up his apartment.

She could feel his conflicting emotions, but she knew he wanted to, and she was way more than willing herself. She just needed to give him a little push in the right direction, so she called, "Angel, can you come here for a minute?" there was a long silence with just the sound of the shower running. Then the door opened and she heard him walk inside.

She heard him swallow hard then say, "You called me?" he let his eyes travel over the blurry image of her naked body behind the frosty glass shower door. Bitting back a groan as she turned to her side and he could make out the silohette of her figure.
"Um... do you mind if I use your soap and shampoo?" she asked, 'then come in here and wash me?' she added mentally.

"Sure." he reached into the bathroom cupboard and took out a fresh bar of soap and a bottle of regular shampoo. He was planning on just handing her the soap and shampoo through a small opening where the shower door met the wall. But was completely thrown when Buffy opened the door giving him a perfectly clear view of the body he's yearned to touch for ever. there was no way you could stop him now.

He was in the shower in record timing, and had her pinned against the tile wall with her legs around him and their lips pressed together. Through all this Angel managed to remember to close the shower door too. "Angel." she moaned when his hands cupped her beautifully shaped breasts and began to knead them and his mouth trailed wet kisses down the side of her neck.

Both of them felt the already strong conection grow and expand to new heights as she tore off his shirt and reached between their desperate bodies to unbuckle his belt and undo his pants. He moaned when she reached inside his jeans and took hold of his erection, then tugged him out of the confines of them. His wet jeans were a challenge to get off, but they managed.

Now that the barier of their clothes was dealt with, Angel looked into her passion hooded eyes and asked the silent question. She just smiled at him and wrapped her arms and legs more securely around him. Then she felt him nudging at her entrance, and she couldn't take it anymore. She gave a tiny thrust down, burrying the head of him inside her.

Angel groaned and captured her lips in a searing kiss as he pushed himself further into her tight, wet sheath. The kiss didn't last long because Buffy had to break it so she could gasp, not because she needed air, but because the pleasure that so deep, it was soul deep. Then she winced as she felt him bump against her hymen. She felt Angel freeze. She looked into his eyes and nodded, then closed her eyes and burried her face in his wet shoulder. Then he pushed through, thrusting himself all the way inside her.

Buffy whimpered and pressed her cheek against his as she waited for the sharp pain to leave. As it faded, the soul deep, almost violent, pleasure came rushing back. She started writhing against him, trying to tell him to move, because she couldn't remember how to talk. Then she felt him shift inside her, and then pull almost all the way out, then gently push back in. The sheer pleasure of it blew her mind and caused her to cry out loudly.

He was lost, completely lost. There was no way he was finding his way back to earth now. Being here with her, inside her, listening her to cry out his name in pleasure. It was enough to make him come right then and there. But he wouldn't do that, he wanted to drain her of every last scream before he let himself go. He pulled out and pushed back in a little harder, then repeated it, thrusting a little harder each time until he was positively pounding her into the tile wall.

She pulled back a bit to look at his face, his eyes were closed, but when he felt her move, he opened them and looking into her eyes, then sealing his lips over hers, this time their tongues coming into play, thrusting against each other, mimicing the movement of their lower bodies.

Buffy could almost here her soul, and her demon, singing as they joined with his and were one, just like their bodies. She was certain she could hear his too. With every thrust, every kiss, every touch, their souls sang louder. And when Angel's hand snaked between their undulating bodies to give her swollen clit one tiny flick, everything imploded before her eyes. She could hear herself screaming as she was flying. All that mattered was him, and his wet naked body pressed against hers.

When he felt her vaginal walls squeeze and ripple around him, he let himself go, shooting his seed deep inside his mates willing body.

Then everything seemed to go black.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When he 'woke up' he could feel the cold spray of the shower, the hot water being all gone, the feel of his mates head resting him his shoulder, and the he could hear the distinct sound of content purring. He smiled at the cuteness of it. Then held her tigher against him, turned off the spray, got out of the shower and walked out of the still steamy bathroom toward his bed.

Hey lay down on it with her sprawled acros his chest, seeming to still be in the 'trance' he had been in. He wondered if he had been purring too. Probably.

"Angel?" she said sleepily.

"Hmm?" he answered.

"I love you."

"I love you too, sweetheart."

Then they both fell fast asleep.

When Angel woke up it was dark out, and he was alone in his bed. He groaned and rubbed his eyes before sitting up, thinking it was all a very vivid dream. Then he spotted the note sitting on top of his bedside table. It was in Buffy's writing. He picked it up, it read: Angel, I went to see Giles. Love, Buffy. Oh no, he thought to himself, for he knew that vampire soulmates are powerless without the other.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At Giles's place, Buffy sat on the couch with a cup of lukewarm tea, watching Giles pace back and forth in the small living room of his apartment. Buffy had briefed him on the editted version of the previous day's events. Even though she had left out the 'intense' parts, he had managed to piece it together, and was looking rather uncomfortable. "Giles please side down or something, I'm feeling nervous enough. Though I don't know why I feel so weird." she said the last sentence quietly.

"I know why you feel this way. You and your soulmate have been separated." Giles said slowly. Though feeling slightly uncomfortable, he was amazed that the prophecy he had read about in the Codex really wasn't bogus.

Buffy wrinkled her brow in confusion. "Soulmates. You mean our human souls?" Buffy asked her watcher curiously.

"No. I mean your vampire souls, and your human souls. Since, in human form, you two are soulmates, and your vampire souls are mates..." he paused, "it's all coming together." He said in bewilderment.

"What's coming together?" Buffy asked.

Giles went quickly to his bookshelf and took down the codex and turned it to a memorized page. Then he handed it to Buffy and pointed out the scripture. It was in Gaelic, but she understood it and read it while translating it to english, "The chosen one will be brought over by the higher ones and shall take her place beside the one with a human soul. Together they will create together a wall that will block the first out for all time." then she shook her head in confusion. "how can I understand this. I've never learnt this language? And what does it mean by a 'wall'?" she asked her watcher.

"Gaelic is the language that Angel was taught growing up. That's another indication. This prophecy indicates that you will be turned in a vampire and will be the soulmate to Angel. Then you and him will, um... you will..."

"Spit it out, Giles!" Buffy demanded. "We'll what?"

"Produce a warrior that will bring down the First Evil." Giles said quickly to get it over with.

Buffy's eyes widened. "You mean..?" at Giles' nod she blinked and read the prophecy over in her head again. "So, when is the rest of this going to happen?"

"Soon, I would presume." He said quietly. But Buffy heard him loud and clear, what with her vampiric hearing.

"This is great. I just meet a guy a few months ago and I'm already pregnant. That boarders on ironic considering I told myself I'd lose my virginity after I get married." Buffy closed the book and gave it to Giles who moved to put it away.

"This thing that's happened between you and Angel. It's the vampire equivalent to marriage. A bond that will never be broken until complete death." Gile explained. Buffy nodded and hugged herself because she felt like her insides her crying, and suddenly she started shaking slightly. Giles noticed. "You need to get back." he told her sternly.

"Why do I feel so sad?" she asked, her voice quivering from the tremors that were wracking her body. "I feel like my heart is breaking."

"You've been away from him for too long. You're feeling what could be described as withdrawl." Giles said, and hurriedly grabbed his coat.

"Well, most people say that love is a drug, but, as usual, in my case it's litteral." She stood up.

"I'll drive you home. Anymore time away from him, you'll get so weak you could die." he took her by the shoulders and lead her out of his apartment to his car.

He sped at the car's top speed all the way to Angel's apartment. When they got there, Buffy was shivering like she had just come out of a freezer. Giles had to help her out of his car and take her to the door.

Before Giles could knock, the door flew open. It was Angel. "Angel. Thank God."

Buffy heard her mate's name being said through the ringing in her ears. Before she knew it she was in his arms, the shaking stopped and the sadness just drained away. "Angel..." she whispered into his chest, tightening her arms around him. She faintly heard Angel speak to Giles for a little while, then she was being picked up and carried by her boyfriends strong, loving arms.

He sat on the couch with her in his lap, whispering endearments to her and stroking her hair. "I should have told you. I'm so sorry." He kissed her forehead.

"Angel?" she whispered the question.

"Yeah."

"How come you were fine when you were at the door?" she asked, lifting her head to looking into his eyes, feeling the strong connection flare at eye contact.

"It usually affects the female more strongly than the male." he answered. He was through hiding things from her. There was no way he could not tell her the straight out truth. She'd find out at some point anyway.

"Oh... What?" She wrinkled her nose in confusion.

Angel couldn't help but smile at the cute picture she made. "Vampires call it the fever. It happens when vampire soulmates are apart for too long. Their demon starts to weaken and eventually dies. The strength in which it hits a vampire depends on size and gender."

"And I'm small and a girl. So stereotypes exist on the darkside as well." she said. "I could have died, and I was only gone for an hour. I felt like... I can't even describe it." then she remember the prophecy. "Oh, Giles showed me the prophecy that says this will happen. It also said that something else would happen too."

Angel was silent for a moment. "I was going to tell you tonight. I'm so sorry about all this." he hated that she was being pushed into a life that she doesn't want yet. She's only sixteen.

"I'm not sorry." she said quietly. At his weird look, she smiled and said, "If you think about it from the light side it's a pretty cool deal. I mean, we thought that we would never be together because we were sworn enemies and also that we'd never have a family together." she touched his face and said, "And now... even though I had to be made a vampire to do it... the powers have given us this incredible chance at a life together. And it'll be litterally forever." Angel just gazed at her face in awe. "What?" she asked, grinning.

"Nothing. I just..." he trailed off.

"You what?" she urged.

"I love you."

Buffy's smile grew and her eyes shined with tears and with love. "I'll never ever get tired of hearing those words." then she rested her head on his chest again before said softly, "I love you too." Forever.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two Months Later:

"Mom, I swear I'm fine, really. I'm just um... I can't keep this up everytime me and him are apart." Buffy insisted. After telling her mother all about the whole slayer thing and vampire thing, then telling her that she was a vampire herself, it sent her mom into sort of a tailspin.

"I know that honey. It's just... my daughter is moving out and... it's tough on a mother, especially when her daughter is only seventeen." Joyce felt fresh tears fall. When her daughter came home with the librarian and her tutor and dropped a huge bombshell on her, then stayed home for a month, and now is moving in with the man Buffy told her was her tutor but now is her boyfriend and also her soulmate... it was very confusing, but after talking to Mr. Giles they got it sorted out that Buffy couldn't be away from Angel for too long, or she could die. So she had to let her daughter go.

Buffy handed a suitcase to Angel before hugging her mother tightly. "I'll visit a lot mom, I swear. Angel and I will even come and have an overnight thing or something sometime. okay?"

"Of course. you two are always welcome." Joyce told them. Buffy nodded. Joyce helped them with the bags and suitcases of Buffy's possesions out to Angel's car that Buffy insisted he get.

"I love you mom." Buffy told her mother before she and Angel drove back to their new apartment that was in a better part of town than the other one.

When they arrived home Buffy started unpacking her clothes and hanging them in the semi-walkin closet in their bedroom. Angel, sensing that something was bothering her, came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her tiny waste. He placed a few kisses on her neck before asking, "What's wrong, sweetheart?" he knew what it was, but it would be better if she told him, to get it off her chest.

Buffy sighed and leaned back against her boyfriends muscled chest. "I just hate doing this to my mom. She was just getting over the whole vampire thing, and now she has to deal with the empty nest syndrom."

"I just didn't like having you away from me at night. Even though we found out that you could last the night if you had one of my shirts on. It was dangerous." he explained again.

"I know. It was the smell of the shirt that kept me from going all Angel-withdrawl. But, I guess I just need to losen up and try and forget about it." she said. then she turned in his arms and wrapped her arms around his waste, inhaling his scent. "I'll just be happy that we don't have to say goodbye anymore."

"I have something that might cheer you up." he said secretively.

Buffy smiled at his tone of voice. she raised to head and look up into his eyes. "You do, huh? And what would that be?" she asked.

He just smiled and led her over to the dark curtain that covered the sliding glass door that lead to the large deck. "I remember you saying a little while ago that you would die to have a hot tub. So..." he opened the curtain and then the sliding glass door and led her out onto the deck. Buffy gasped when she saw the medium size steaming hot tub sitting right next her her with a beautiful gazebo covering over it. "So I went out and bought one." He watched as his girlfriend walked up to the side of the hot tub and placed her hands in the edge.

Buffy placed her hand in the steaming water then turned and jumped on her boyfriend, kissing him and saying "thank you." at least twenty times. Then she unwrapped her legs from around his waste and said, "I'm going to get into my bathing suit." then she rushed inside to go do so.

Angel just laughed and followed her inside, glad that he was able to make his mate smile again after such a stressful two months.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Twenty minutes later Buffy was sitting on Angel's lap and leaning against his hard chest. The steaming water of the hot tub worked wonders on her tense body and soon she was so relaxed that if she didn't have Angel there to hold her up, she would have floated away on the bubbley water. "Mmm, how do you always know just what I want?" she asked, leaning her head back on his shoulder and looking up at his unflawed face.

He smiled and placed a brief kiss on her lips. "Magic." she threw his a look over her shoulder. He chuckled and said, "I just hate seeing you stressed out. Also, I'm a romantic." he started to caress her bare belly, wondering for the millionth time if she could be pregnant. But they had found out the second part to the prophecy that basically said the pregnancy thing won't happen for a few more years or so.

"I've noticed. But it's definitely proved to be a very good thing." she said as she placed her hands on his, then turning around in his arms and straddling his lap. "I believe that this hot tub hasn't been christined yet." she rubbed herself against him feeling him grow and rise against her. "I think someone else was thinking the same thing."

"What might you be implying?" he asked innocently. Buffy grinned devilishly

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Giles stood in front of Buffy and Angel holding two identical silver band rings. "I had these mailed to me. We can use these enchanted rings to allow you two to be apart longer than a few hours."

"Well, that's good." Buffy commented. "What do we do?"

The ritual to bless these to work for you specifically isn't very difficult. Very simple actually. We could d oit right now, I have the altar all prepared. I just need your concent." Giles indicated the altar with incense burning and a platform that would obviously hold the rings.

"Sure. It would be better because Buffy could be with her friends more." Angel said. Buffy smiled at his sweetness. Barely any words were every exchanged between them for their connection was so deep that they could just express what they felt without any words at all.

Giles nodded his agreement. "Now I'll walk you through it."

It didn't take long for Buffy and Angel to get educated on the ritual. Now Buffy and Angel were sitting on the floor on one side of the altar and Giles was sitting on the other side, the rings sitting on their little stand. Giles began, "Joined by soul and demon. Give me the power to take a piece of their essense and bless these magical rings." He picked up the smaller one of the two and held it over the small candle that was burning in front of him. "Take of the male's aura a tear drop and bless this ring." A tear ran down Angel's cheek and flashed to the ring and melting into the silver. Giles set that one down and picked up the other one. "Take of the female's aura a tear drop and bless this ring." The same thing happened accept a tear came from Buffy's eyes to melt into the ring. After Giles set that one down. "Joined in this world and next, may you carry this token of each others essense." Angel took the smaller ring and placed it on Buffy's third finger. She did the same with the other ring. "So it is." then the candle went out.

Buffy squealed in happiness and hugged Angel tightly. "It feels like a marriage." she whispered into his ear.
Angel hugged her back and just savored this moment that he was gifted with. Every moment spent in her arms was a gift sent straight from the heavens.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"So where's Angel right now?" Willow asked her best friend whom she hadn't seen with her soulmate in sucha long time. "Can you feel that?" she was so giddy about being able to talk about Angel without him being around.

Buffy closed her eyes for a brief second, grinning like a fool. "He's reading, but thinking about me instead of Midsummernights Dream." Buffy smiled at her friend smuggly, "What do ya think of that?"

"Wow. That amazing. Can he do that too?" Willow gushed. At Buffy's nodd and blush the red headed computer genius got really excited. "Wow."

Buffy grinned and took another sip of her decaf mocachino. "And did I tell you that he bought me a hot tub?" Buffy blushed at the memory of just what they did in that hot tub that night.

"You have got to invite me over sometime." Willow giggled, knowing full well what that blush from her best friend was because of. "So you two are like totally a major item now. In every and all ways?"

"Yeah. I never thought that a nightmare such as becoming a vampire would turn into a such a dream come true, ya know?" Buffy asked her friend if she understood.

Willow nodded vigorously. "I totally understand. It's like a major change, but it was made by the Powers and they don't usually give things like this away." Buffy smiled.

"Don't I know it. And Will, I have something else to tell you. Um, you know how I told you about that prophecy?" Willow nodded. "Well, there's more. It says that we, that is me and Angel, have a daughter and she becomes the ultimate Slayer that defeats the First forever."

"Really? Cool." Willow exclaimed, the waited for Buffy to continue.

Buffy grinned from ear to ear. "I'm pregnant, Will."

Willow's eyes widened and she jumped up and down in her chair, regardless of everyone else in the coffee shop, she squealed and got up and hugged her friend tightly. "Oh my god, Buffy. You're gonna be a mom."

Buffy laughed and hugged her friend back and she just couldn't wait to tell Angel the good news. Or at least she hoped he would think it's good. After all she was only 16 and that's not really the best age to be having a child. But she was pretty sure he'd just do backflips.

When Buffy got home from hanging out with Willow, she stepped out of her sandals and threw her coat over the back of a chair. She looked around the dark apartment. "Angel?" she called. She walked into their bedroom and noticed the wind of moving the dark curtain. She pushed the curtain asside and there he was. Standing on the balcony without a shirt on. She smiled and moved up behind him, wrapping her arms around his middle and pressing a few kisses to his tatoo. "Hey, Baby." she greeted him. She could feel him smile and lighten up at her presence.

He took her hands and tugged her around to stand in front of him. He dipped his head for a quick kiss on the lips before showering tiny kissed down her neck and over and shoulders. "Hey." he replied huskily, pressing her against the high railing of their balcony.

Buffy arched her neck into his wonderful mouth. She ran her hands over his biceps and delighted in the feel of their rippling under her touch. She arched her body into his and ground herself into the very evident bulge in the front of his pants. "I see you missed me." she said with a short giggle that turned into a tiny moan of pleasure when his lips found a ultra sensitive spot at the base of her neck.

He pulled away and rested his forehead against hers. "You were only gone two hours, but it was two hours too long." he kissed her with lusty passion. Then he picked her up and carried her back inside, managing to close the balcony door and pull the curtain closed behind him. He lowered her carefully onto their bed, never breaking the kiss. "Oh, God... Buffy, I love you so much." he whispered huskily into her ear.

She moaned as his hand came up and massaged her left breast. "Mmm, I love you too Angel..." she trailed off, becoming lost in the engulfing pleasure of being with him like this. She lifted her arms so he could remove her tank top, and the rest of their clothes seemed to just melt off their passion fueled bodies.

Neither noticed that as they were wrapped up in each other, the rings they got from Giles, were glowing bright blue.

At sunset the next night, Buffy woke up first. She was starving. She quickly got up and moved to their small, but functionable, kitchen. Opening the fridge, she noticed her ring was glowing a faint blue, light it was cooling down, then it went back to normal. "Okay." she said to herself uncertainly.

"Okay, what?" she heard her mate say as she strong, loving arms wrapped themselves around her middle, his lips pressing a few kisses to her neck and shoulder.

Buffy just enjoyed the closeness for a brief moment before ruining it with a worry. "I don't know. My ring was glowing really dim blue." she held up her left hand and looked at the ring again. She felt Angel move his head closer to look at it. "It stopped glowing before you got here." she told him.

Angel made a 'hmm' sound and looked at his own, it was normal. "That's weird. We'll have to talk to Giles about that....later." he said huskily and turned her around in his arms, his lips fusing over hers. Buffy moaned and forgot all about being hungry for food. Now she was hungry in a different way. She giggled softly when he lifted her and sat her on the counter. Then Angel paused turning his head as if listening to something. His eyes widened and he knew what he was hearing... a heartbeat. He looked into her eyes.

"Angel, what is it?" she asked him.

"You're pregnant." he said, in awe.

Buffy realized he was hearing the baby's heartbeat. "Yes, I am. I was gonna tell you, but we got sidetracked." she said with a smile. She watched his face looking for any sign of happiness or sadness, but all she saw was his broody face. "Angel, are you okay?"

He placed a hand on her belly. "Never better." he replied before capturing her lips in a loving kiss.
