Techdirt has an amusing new disclaimer penned by lawyer David Canton is response to Rob Hyndman's recent discovery of an impressive disclaimer for a rock preserve.  From the disclaimer:

"Business is unpredictable and unsafe.  The internet is dangerous.  Many blogs have been written about these dangers, and there's no way we can list them all here.  Read the blogs.  The internet is covered with slippery slopes with loose, slippery and unpredictable footing.  The RIAA can make matters worse.  Patent trolls are everywhere.  You may fall, be spammed or suffer a DOS attack. There are hidden viruses and worms.  You could break your computer.  There is wild code, which may be vicious, poisonous or carriers of malware.  These include viruses and worms.  E-mail can be poisonous as well.  We don't do anything to protect you from any of this.  We do not inspect, supervise or maintain the Internet, blogosphere, ISP's or other features, natural or otherwise."

Please also note this does NOT include that you may be pinged, traced back, tracked, root kitted, hunted, stalked by an estranged/unknown/obessive lover or otherwise haunted & dismayed. It also, OMITTED any mentions of the Patriot Act(s) or the NSA, FBI, CIA, Presidential Administrations, etc.  Nor does it also include your ISP's, Library's, Travel Agent's, Utilities's, Casino's, Real Estate Agent's, PayPal's  records & other records that can be handed over to them, should they be ordered (or NOT be ordered, ex.: EFF vs. AT&T) to tell on you.  Also, there is some documented precedents for some of these already.  Go Google, AltaVista, MSN, Yahoo (better yet, SlashDot) searching for it.  I wouldn't expect any medical or insurance records to be too safe either, as the two work hand in hand.  Another racket worthy of investigation, of W3C, EFF and other noble organizations.  Join them if you can.  It is a real eye opener, as to exactly what is out there and what they deal with.  And the dangers are only limited by the imagination, to the hazzards that really do exist.

Please accept this humble inclusion!   Have a nice day now!  Ya Hear?
