Spring came and it's Hikaru's first day as an official Haze Junior High student. Students decide which club to join and a couple of guys from the basketball team tear off the Go Club poster and gets Hikaru really angry and he tries to beat them with a broom! Kaga tells them that only the strong group has the privileges. Tsutsui tapes the poster back together and posts it up on another wall outside. Tustsui also announces that their chemistry teacher, Ms. Tamako, is willing to lend her classroom for them to use for their club afterschool. Hikaru is happy because they can now be like a real club. Touya gets dropped off at Haze by the Ichikawa-san [the counter girl at the go salon from episode 1]. She offers to wait for him if he'll only take a few minutes but Touya tells her that he'll take the bus home. Everybody looks at Touya because he was wearing the Kaiou school uniform. Touya asks around the school for the Go Club but nobody around knows anything about it. Finally, he runs into the chemistry teacher and she directs him to the chemistry classroom that Hikaru and the others were meeting. Meanwhile Hikaru plays a game of go with Tsutsui. Tsutsui comments that HIkaru sometimes seems strong but when he's playing normally, he doesn't seem that strong. Touya finally sees Hikaru and asks him why he never comes to the go salon anymore. Touya tells Hikaru that he has become stronger since the last time they played and that he won't be embarrassed by Hikaru this time. But Hikaru refuses to play against Touya and closes the window leaving Touya standing outside. The atmosphere at the Kaiou Go Club is tense as everyone awaits Touya's arrival. The door opens and everyone looks up at Touya. At Haze, Akari has made a new poster for the Go Club. More colourful than the one before. At Kaiou, the new students are introduced to the class. The teacher offers to play the first game with Touya. Back at Haze, Hikaru tells Tsutsui that he'll try asking a bunch of smart people to join the club. Although it doesn't matter how smart people are. Akari tells them that it seems that people who aren't smart can't seem to learn the game. Tsutsui then jokingly says then how come Hikaru knows how to play. Sai laughs. They try to teach Akari how to play but instead of placing a stone for her next move...she moves the stone to get away instead!! HIkaru gets irritated at Akari. At Kaiou, the teacher tells Touya about the students in the club and brings up Hikaru and the time he played in the tournament. The teacher tells Touya that maybe Touya can defeat Hikaru. The teacher ends the game as he has seen enough of Touya's strength. A few young female students asks Touya for a tutoring game and a more senior comes up and says that she should play since she is more senior but Touya politely says that since the other girls had asked him first, he'll play them first. Hikaru looks up at the Sakura flowers in anticipation of catching up to Touya one day.... |
