The Eighth Match-The Scheme In The Rain
Hikaru and Sai are at the book store where Hikaru buys some books along with the tsumego book that Kaga ripped to shreds.  Sai asks Hikaru how come he doesn't buy Akari some beginner books on Go.  Hikaru tells Sai that it'll be a waste since Akari can't tell the difference between Othello and Go.    Since it was getting dark, Hikaru and Sai heads home.  Wondering what time it was, Hikaru looks for a clock nearby and sees the news headline on the street that Touya Meijin has won the Jyudan title making him a four title holder.  The Meijin has now risen higher and higher...
At Kaiou Jr High, Touya sits in the corner of the Go club room, replaying games by himself.  Students in the club speaks amongst themselves about how it would be a waste of time for Touya to play against them since he is the son of the Meijin--the four title holder.  The Sensei aproaches Touya to congratulate him on his father's victory but Touya simply thanked him and returned to his game.  What an uncaring son...but what the others don't know that the only reason for Touya to be even in the Go club in the first place was to play Hikaru...or rather the Sai within Hikaru.  Aoki goes up to Touya and asks for a game.  Aoki is the third strongest player in the club next to the president and vice-president.  But because of Touya, Aoki will not be able to play in the tournament.  Rather than raising a commotion in the club over the matter, Aoki chose to play Touya.  If he loses then nobody can complain.  The game does not go very far and Aoki resigns and leaves.  A new member in the Go club suddenly got an idea on how to win Touya.  He goes up to Touya and asks for the game, the only catch was that he got the first move.  Touya agreed and the new kid, places his first move on the Tengen.  The centre of the board.  The match continues with the new kid mirroring Touya's every move.  Touya pauses and the club is hushed.  Touya then smiled and turns the game into a victorious match...it was like magic.  Afterwards, a couple of male students mock the new kid on his pathetic attempt to defeat Touya.  Outside, they see the cute lady who works at the Go Salon picking Touya up from school.  Touya was supposed to tutur her in go.  She even tells him that she'll serve him cake and coffee.  That enrages the new kid even more.  The other student then tells him that they will come up with a play to defeat Touya but it won't be under any normal circumstances.  Meanwhile at Haze Jr High, Hikaru and Tsutsui are also packing up and leaving after their Go club meeting.  Tsutsui comments on how Akari did not show up today because Hikaru yelled at her the other day.  Tsutsui asks Hikaru how come he won't ask her to come.  Hikaru tells him that it doesn't make any sense for a girl to play Go.  Sai tells him otherwise.  Even back in the capital of the Heian period, may women played Go.  When they get outside the school, Hikaru opens his umbrella in an attempt to surprise Sai.  Sai pretends to be shocked but the tells Hikaru that he has seen it many times already.  While walking, Sai and Hikaru talks about how Go stone and Go board --like umbrellas--has not changed over the last thousand years.  Hikaru tells Sai that even man has landed on the moon and Sai is in disbelief.  In the other part of the city, the three Kaiou students are walking home and discussing on a plan to defeat Touya.  One of the students says why don't they tie up Touya's hands and legs and that sparks an idea in the other student.  He has a plan to defeat Touya no matter what.
