THE COURSES
Course's for dogs and handlers new to agility run at regular intervals during the year. Each course lasts eight weeks and costs £35, payable in advance. There is often a waiting list for courses, so early booking is advisable.

At the end of the 8 week course, if you wish to continue, you will move up into the next class. Here you will begin to prepare for competitions, if you are interested in competing.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?
Obviously you need a dog!! Almost any size or breed of dog is suitable, but it must be over 12 months of age and reasonably fit. Dogs which are overweight or have medical problems will find this energetic sport too demanding.

You will also need to be reasonably fit yourself - if you can sprint for a bus without collapsing...you'll be fine!

As for equipment, you will need a flat collar for your dog, check chains & half-checks are not suitable. You will need a long lead (not a flexi-lead) Toys and tit-bits to reward your dog are other essential items.

Make sure you are wearing shoes in which you can run comfortably, trainers are ideal. Whatever you do, don't leave home without your sense of humour.....you will need it!!
