Music Heading

Welcome to my music page! In order to hear these files, your computer needs to be equipped with a media player which can play midi files, and almost all computers have those nowadays. I suggest Quicktime, Windows Media Player, or Winamp.
As a disclaimer I would just like to say that all of the files posted here right now were written before I knew very much about Music Theory and before I knew anythign about form, so they are not like most of the stuff I am writing in college now. I hope to have time to put some other music up when I launch my new website. Also be warned that MIDI files do not do justice to any type of music, so I apologize for that. Enjoy!

MIDI

Etude No.1
This is the first 20 seconds of a guitar etude which I have been working on.

As Yet Untitled
This piece is written in g minor and it is for symphony orchestra. So far, it is my favorite of all my pieces. It is almost complete, and I will be finishing it off in the next few weeks.

Wedding Dance
Here is another Irish sounding thing...it's in a major key, and it reminds me of a wedding..thus the name....

New (june 4)
Here's the new one!

Look Closer
A little experimentation with some different sounding instruments and percussion.

"Disco"
Here's a little thing I wrote for fun one night..it took me like an hour or so.

Elegy for Viola and Piano
This is written for piano and viola. It's not done yet, but I think it will be pretty someday.

Fare Thee Well
This piece was written for my final for my senior year of high school VHS class. It's in c sharp minor and is written for chamber orchestra or quintet..that is, 2 violins, a viola, a cello and a double bass.

Fare Thee Well(arranged version)
The arranged version of the aforementioned piece. Soon I'll put up an mp3 of the live version of this.

Winter Enchantment
A little irish sounding gigue in 6/8!

Military Waltz in F
This is a little waltz that I wrote on March 2, 2001. Kinda sounds Chopinesque. But not really.

Remorse
A tidbit of an unfinished piece for symphony orchestra in e minor.

When Someday ComesThis is something that I basically just whipped out of nowhere, just sat at the piano and started playing it. I began working on this on January 10, 2001 and completed it on February 14, 2001. One of my favorite achievements.

DownfallA short, unfinished piece for piano. Christine thinks it sounds like a song from a vampire movie. Could be. . .

GraduationThe theme for this song was originally inspired as a joint effort with someone, but I took it and decided to write a theme for graduation instead. As it was not finished for graduation, I will finish it someday just to finish it.

OblivionThis piece is in g minor and it is written for symphony orchestra. It is mostly finished, except for some small polishing. It took me about a year and a half to complete.

Bowser's CastleThis was my composition for my music theory final junior year. It is named Bowser's Castle because the computer at school makes it sound like music from a video game. It was originally intended for string quartet, but can be arranged for chamber orchestra. This piece was performed on March 29, 2001 by the Shrewsbury High School orchestra, and was my debut as a compser. The recording of that will be up when I get time to encode it!

Untitled
This was my first effort in composition, and it took me approximately 3 years to write. I haven't a clue what I should call it, because it's basically a hodge podge of every theme in my head at the time. I will probably be extracting the waltz part and making it into something a little more developed. I am proud of the piano solo at the end.
