This is a thoughtful discussion of humanity’s place in the scheme of things.  The author offers a gentle critique of our all-consuming focus on material things and lack of respect for Mother Nature.  Without being preachy, this book supplies an alternative perspective to the normal push for progress and prosperity.  A sophisticated read and an inspiring read.  The message is very important and this book is worth having in the library collection.  Highly recommended for senior high school libraries.
