Chapter 2
(Back with the girls)
Alexa: Girl you got to take off the dress. You can’t wear it home.
Elena: You can’t wear it again until the wedding.
Kayla: (shaking her head) I don’t want to.
Liz: Come on Kayla.
Kayla: I don’t want to.
Sandra: You have to.
Kayla: Fine. I don’t like you anymore. (Goes back into the dressing room to get changed)
Elena: So what’s everyone’s plans for tonight?
Liz: Well, Sandra and I are having a double date.
Sandra: Yup. They finally get to meet Matt.
Alexa: Sounds like fun.
Liz: Hopefully.
Sandra: It will be.
Alexa: Brian and me are buying something for the house.
Liz: What are you buying?
Alexa: We don’t know. We want something that is ours…you know.
Elena: As long as it is not another dog. We already have two. One starts barking then the other starts barking. It’s a nut house in there.
Kayla: (comes out of the dressing room) I need a slurpy.
Elena: I can take you. I have nothing else better to do tonight.
Kayla: Good cause then we can look for something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue.
Elena: We can do that.
(Kevin is now at his house and he is listening to tapes of bands for the wedding.)
Kevin: (takes a tape out) That one stunk. (Puts in another tape, listens to it for awhile, and then starts to dance) This one’s pretty good. Dance with me Quincy.
(Doorbell)
Kevin: Keep dancing Quincy I’ll get it. (Walks over and opens to door) Oh…hello.
Charlie: Hello Kevin.
Kevin: You guys are early. The wedding isn’t until next week.
Jimmy: Hey it’s a free vacation plus I get out of school.
Kevin: (opens the door more) Come on in. (Charlie and Jimmy walk in carrying bags and then…dun dun dun…Kevin spots Carol.) Oh…hello. Nice of you to come.
Carol: Isn’t it? (She walks in) Is Kayla home?
Kevin: No… (Walks over and turns off the tape) she’s with the girls. They had their final fitting for their gowns today.
Carol: Oh.
Kevin: We didn’t think you were coming?
Jimmy: We weren’t. Dad dragged us down here.
Charlie: Jim do we need to have a talk again?
Jimmy: No dad.
Charlie: Good then. (Made as a declaration) Go get the rest of the bags out of the car.
Jimmy: Yes sir. (Walks outside to get the bags)
Kevin: So…can I get you anything?
Carol: Listen, I still don’t approve of this whole wedding…
Kevin: Oh.
Carol: But you make Kayla happy and I don’t want to miss my only daughters wedding.
Kevin: I know you don’t approve of us, but you have no idea how happy I am and how happy Kayla will be to see you here. She was really upset when you said you weren’t going to come.
Carol: I figured. That’s why I’m here. I also thought that I could get to know you more.
Kevin: I would like that.
