From the beginning.......
Named after the Leeds United glory side of the 70's the White Tide were formed in May 1995 by former team manager Martin Crowdy and the legendary Paul 'Goal Machine' Northgrave, at the Cask Inn, Scarborough. Entered into the Pindar leisure centre 5-a-side league soon after, Crowdy and Northgrave appointed Mr Lee Emerson as team manager. After a disapointing first season Lee Emerson quit as team manager to persue a career in the music industry. It was left to Martin Crowdy to take over the reigns as manager. Crowdy took the team from strength to strength and in 1997 the Tide finished league runners-up.(below). Come the new millenium the White Tide entered a new era. In February 2000 veteran midfield player Tony Patterson became the new team manager, replacing the sacked Crowdy. After just over one month in the job Patterson had achieved a joint top league placing and the White Tide also finished overall league championship runners-up (below) in the Pindar leisure centre winter league.
Team colours.......
In the early years the Tide wore a makeshift strip of all white. In 1997 they wore their first official strip (left), all white with blue lettering. This was to be the team strip for two years. In 1999 the team paraded a new strip (right) with newly adopted red hoops.
